Well, I wasn't suggesting he goes there next year, but if there was a seat free and it was suggested he could go there I would welcome him. ;)

Equallity at Mclaren. I think not.

no offense to Heikki but what was stopping him passing the cars ahead which Lewis did.....

Lewis had the pace he had newer tyres than Heikki it was only logical to let him pass.

the result speaks for itself.

have to say lewis was the driver of the day today, again! boo but it has to be said

I am annoyed at how Alonso's reputation has been completely obliterated by 1 season at McLaren and now people are like "well, nobody wants the risk of taking him on"

In my view I've kind of forgiven Alonso now as he's got his head down again. I wouldn't mind him driving for Williams, he'd probably do well there.

i think everyone but mclaren would have him, but he has eyes for the red car, no real point just signing him for next year really

He should probably keep BMW Sauber in mind. They may turn out to have the upper hand over the next few years, but the wisest thing he could do is keep himself at Renault for 2009 as, like Honda, BMW Sauber, Force India and Williams, they have a great opportunity to develop a better car than McLaren and Ferrari for next year.

you shouldnt have Gritted teeth, the only guy who would atm would be Fernando, he was meant to bring Renaults first podium this year, but he drove ragged and reckless and lost positions he shouldnt have if he continues so Ferrari will look to the younger Vettel and Kubica as a combo in the years to come!

thats why i was super impressed by np, on race day,

older tyres and heavier fuel, and no spins, and at the end he kept up with massa well, [and he had half race soft tyre on a car that chews its rears], he was lucky, but made the most of it, as any driver should do,

i, want np to beat alonso every race if possible, not gonna happen, but i know alonso is off, and id like reanutl to have a decent driver secure,

i bitch about np, when hes rubbish, but its only cause i want him to be do well with renault

I can't beleive the Formula 1 magazine at the start of the season said this season would be the best battle ever between Lewis, Kimi and Fernando.
I thought it was a joke as I could see that Alonso was going to be hopeless in the Renault.

Brilliant drive by Piquet I was cheering him in the last few laps I just wish Hamilton had made a mistake and Piquet got past him.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
He did drive well though, better than Alonso.Hats off to him.

Indeed. I hope he out-performs Fernando for the rest of the season. I'd love for Renault to get on terms with McLaren next season so that we can see Piquet battling Hamilton on even terms again. They had some good races against each other back in their GP2 days.

Yep. they certainly did. And hopefully that 2nd place will have given Piquet some confidence after the battering he's had.

His performance in France gave him the confidence boost he needed in terms of race-pace, and he definitely had it at Silverstone. He's been running well for a while now. Canada, France, Britain and Germany have all been good races for him, but he has had problems with the brakes overheating in Canada, causing a spin, and aquaplaning in Britain, which couldn't have been avoided. Before he went off, he was running as high as fourth.

Qualifying is what lets him down, though. Which is a shame, because the raw pace is clearly there.
