I know it's such a 'shell game' making a prediction of what driver will go where, it is like betting against the odd's in Vegas, your screwed from the start.

It is hard. And again that damn Spaniard is causing all the problems!

i guess youre only as good as your last race eh, after Massa wins another then what will they say? its really annoying stuff but yeah tex youre right youre screwed if you make predictions on driver spots.

Kimi has just come out and said he is honoring his Ferrari contract for 2009 so we know he isnt going to retire. Alonso's only hope is if Ferrari terminate Massa which i do not think they will. and besides would Alonso like having Kimi as a team mate? its obvious after last year he wants to be a set number 1 driver

Kimi says he is staying there

Good on Kimi then. I mean Ferrari signed him for the long term I think.
If he had quit after 2 years. Wouldn't have been that good.

Of course Alonso is tough enough to race Raikkonen in the same car. Afterall Alonso is the better driver out of the 2 overall. I don't rate Raikkonen as high as many others do. When it was suggested that he was Schumi's successor, it was almost laughable. If he was really Schumi's successor, he (Raikkonen) would of won the Monaco and British GPs in those attrocious wet conditions and destroyed the field (Just like Schumi would of done). Instead he spun, spun and spun and Lewis Hamilton showed how it was done. All Raikkonen did was take Schumi's spot when Schumi retired. Schumi bet Raikkonen in 2003 just when it came to the crunch and back then Raikkonen's McLaren was good enough to beat Ferrari. In 2005 Alonso also bet Raikkonen when it came to the wire and his Renault wasn't faster overall than McLaren. And in 2006 Alonso ws triumphet over the great Schumi as well. I would say Raikkonen won in the silly season of 2007 because of who knows, consipracies perhaps? Wouldn't be hard to go past and if he wins this year it is only because Ferrari is quicker. But then again after the testing at Hockenheim if Hamilton and McLaren keep that up (God forbid of course), Raikkonen is going to have to do more than just pray that there are no more wet races. Alonso is the best man for the job at Ferrari to confidently beat Lewis Hamilton in every condition. When at McLaren in 2007, Alonso was the better of the two, it was just that Ron Dennis favoured Hamilton and then all the scandal stuff and spying got out to its peak and out of control.

I agree with most of that. Raikkonen is not fit to lace Schumacher's boots, let alone be his successor. Raikkonen has the talent, but not the application. You need both to be a great driver. Alonso is the man for the job at Ferrari.

Good on Kimi then. I mean Ferrari signed him for the long term I think.

They probably hoped they would have got more than three years out of him as well. In all honesty, Raikkonen's been a bit lazy and Ferrari have the right to feel a little bit short-changed. Alonso is the more rounded driver and would certainly put in more effort. If Raikkonen wanted to leave and I were running the Scuderia, I'd let him go and sign up Alonso who's been gagging to drive for the team for ages.

In my honest opinion I dont think Alonso will end up at Ferrari. I think Ferrari are more interested in Kubica, and Vettel. Kubica hasnt said anything about staying at BMW and that its every drivers dream to drive for the Italian squad. Perhaps he will sign for BMW for 09 and move to Ferrari in 2010 after Raikkonen retires, and Alonso will take Kubica's seat at BMW.

You will take comfort in that you and your fellow Renault fans will be genuine supporters. At the minute, when I wear my McLaren top, God knows how many people come out and ask me I am a Lewis Hamilton supporter? I feel like punching their faces in and crying, "Nooooooooooooo. I'm a McLaren supporter, something I've been since I've been watching Formula One!" There is another group of people who I detest even more. These particular pieces of chaff jumped on the McLaren/Lewis Hamilton bandwagon in the last year or so and who try to speak to me as if they know just as much about the team as me etc. I also want to physically attack those glory-hunting tool bags!
