not silence them completely but certainly get them off his back for a fortnight as they can't really criticize that on track performance. Good victory for Mclaren but I feel bad for kovi this result was a bit of an anti climax for him finishing off the podium

They cannot fault his performance on the track.
But lets just see what he say's and how he acts. These are the things that let him down I think. :vomit:

tabloids arent good for a sport like f1, needs to be written by somone in the know, a tabloid journalist will only consider the days events, not so much the team role, past form, testing, tyre wear,

like the way kimi and alonso were driving slow because they had old tyres,

impressed with fa on that last stint btw

the one thing Hamilton needs is a damn good manager, his dad clearly isnt up to the task of helping to keep his profile down when it needs to be

for now.... it will be back to hero worship

Well, he does kind of deserve it for that brilliant performance. If he could only keep his tongue behind his cheeks a bit more, he might be able to stay reporters' sweetheart for a while

Who cares what the idiot reporters write. lewis was in a class of his own. You listen to reporters if you like. That race today was why i bang on about lewis. he was the only one who worked those tyre and conditions. he was way ahead of his team mate. 68 seconds ahead of everyone!! thats some lead in those conditions. I watched him go from bridge through the complex, he didnt twitch his car, the others did. that was a masterclass that any champion driver would have been proud of. It was a fanTAStic race to watch. Best British GP since 2003! well worth getting soaked to watch it. (specially Lewis lapping the ferraris :hehe: ). Little Felippe seems to have a particular problem with our British weather-perhaps they should shod his ferrari with water skis instead of wheels! :D:D )

Yeh hammerdoide did very well racechick but if Kimi came out on the right tyres he would have made him work for the win.
It is a very different story leading a race and trying to play catch up.
Kimi may not have won but he would not have been 68 seconds behind.

Yes with the right tyres I agree Kimmi would have been second and closer but stilll not close enough. Even on the right tyres he was way off Lewis' pace when it got wetter.

He will maybe escape the wrath of the brittish press, because mistakes are just mistakes. Unless they become systematic and constant, then there is no reason to misplace his driving abilities with images of mistakes. But the truth is not everyone disses him as a driver (maybe rate other drivers higher, but that doesnt mean diss). So until and unless he matures and improves as a sportsman, there will be detractors.
