Spain vs Italy today. One of the best attacking sides in the world against one of the best defending teams in the world.

Holland . Gotta say i'm pleased that Van Der Sar is still staying one more year at Utd. His performance yesterday and throughout the whole tournament was immense.

Spain won, on penalties. I f*ckin hate penalty shootouts. What a s*** way to decide a winner. In my opinion both sides were even. Oh well one team had to go through so from this point on it is VAMOS ARRIBA ESPAÑA all the way.

I am rooting for Turkey, my birth place. Watching the match with German colleagues at work. Turkey is again the underdogs and beating Germany at the semi finals would be huge. Turkey came in 3rd place in World Cup 2002 and it was a huge uplifting result (though there were several questioable calls by referees that went against Turkey). I hope this time Turkey makes it to the finals

Deutschland as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not because I like them better than the Turks. Turks are good people but the reality is I want Spain to win. Germany's side is no big deal. They are probably lucky to be in the final just like they were in the 2002 World Cup final having an easy path there and eventually losing 2 nil easily to Brazil the 2002 Champions. Turkey had a better side and they also played better against the Germans. I watched the game. Turkey had 6 players suspended from 2 yellow cards in 2 games in a row so it wasn't their full strengh squad. Had they bet Germany, Turkey would of played in the final with a full squad, a full squad that would of probably beaten Germany had that squad been allowed to play against the Germans. Thus in my opinion, the weaker German side being in the final will be (Hopefully) an easier opponent for Spain (Hopefully they beat Russia first) to beat and win the Euro 2008 Championships.

Nuh just personal preference. I don't dislike any nationality so if the Germans win good on them. I just want to see someone else win for a change. Germany is like Italy and wins too much. Russia and Spain have only ever won the Euros once and no world cups (unlike Germany and Italy). Russia won it as USSR in 1960 and Spain in 1964. A longtime ago for both countries and both are due for a win I think. Germany on the other hand last won the Euros in 1996 and the World Cup in 1990 and Italy (although already out of this tournament) won the World Cup in 2006 and 1982 as their most recent last 2 wins. And then if you count all of Germany's and Italy's other wins I could just go on and on........

Everyone in germany is kinda disenhearted by the loss, but at least the general attitude is of recognition and respect for the winners and accepting the loss. Spain was a very very strong team.

The best team won and so no one can any complaints about that. This tournament was better that I thought it would be so i say well done to the hosts it seems that poor football nations can put together a good tournament on time and stick to the budget. London 2012 team take notes!
