Frankly, Marco's comments are just stupid and he is making himself look like Daddy's boy.

I think your right as other than Mario, although I have seen some whining from him, it is NOTHING compared to his son Michael and it is sad to say now his grandson!

Screw them F1 does not need and most likely do not want them. I had hopes for Marco having a shot at F1 but that was BEFORE he made those first stupid comments.

Andretti was well supported at McLaren. There's only so much McLaren can do. If you're a poor driver, you're a poor driver no matter what a team's management, designers, engineers and mechanics do for you. I was reading an interesting book today in which a series of comments from Alain Prost in 1998 about McLaren were recorded. Basically, he said that McLaren was the team that supported him most throughout his career, despite what happened in 1989, and that the team is run like a family; he described the myth of McLaren being a cold environment as a myth. Andretti was a disaster from start to finish in 1993, McLaren did all they could for him (borrowing giving him the superior engine, of which they had only one per race at the the time), and the team had no hidden agenda.

Yeah. The Ford engines weren't as powerful as the Renault engines, and Benetton had a pre-existing deal with Ford for their better spec engines, so McLaren just got the customer ones. McLaren and Senna argued that Benetton should give McLaren the same engines as those which Benetton were receiving because that would give Ford a better chance of success. Benetton, of course, objected continuously, and this went on for most of the season, and, in the second half of it, McLaren were given slightly better engines, but they still weren't as good as the ones that Benetton were getting. There was, however, a limited supply of them and they weren't tested in the MP4-8 (they weren't a lot different, but, for instance, in those days, refueling was not allowed, so even in the slightest increase in fuel consumption meant you may not finish the race, because you put as little fuel as possible in the car), so Senna, being the team's better driver, was given the benefit of them.

Yes, tyre changes were allowed. As there was no refueling then, pit crews wore no fireproof overalls etc., just gloves, and the pitstops were slightly shorter, around about five or six seconds. There was also no pitlane speed limit and the white lines on the exit of the pitlane were much shorter.

In reading all these replies I notice there is a positive correlation in that the more posts you have the worse your love life appears to be.
