glad to see a turnaround in form from the guy :) I think we will see a much stronger season from him now. I think he has a lot of trapped potential like what he showed in GP2. bravo

Turnaround? He's had one good race. No doubt that will show Renault they have something with which to work and will have taken some pressure of him, but he needs to put together a sustained run of decent results from now.

Smile came out of my face when he collected the points. The guy deserves it.

I was very impressed with Piquet's race and he damn well better keep it up or he is gone. I remember hearing the SPEEDTV commentator's also mentioning that Renault has ask Nelson Sr. to take more of a backseat role as he is putting to much pressure on Nelson Jr.

He didn't make mistakes and was right there with Alonso; it paid off - he got some points.

I was very happy to see him finally get some points.
Although i think to secure a drive with Renault for next season he will have to outperform Alonso a few more times.

I really can see it happening.
I predicted he would do it at Canada 2 weeks ago but that one went down the pan after a good first part of the race for him, i think he would have gone on to get some points there too if he didnt have the brake problem.

That's all Kovalainen needed last year...

I know, but it's too early yet to say if it's a turnaround. Piquet did a solid job in qualifying and a very good job in the race. He now needs to use last weekend as a springboard to continue in the same vein.

He's had a few good weekends that were ruined by either mistakes or car issues. Spain was good for him, until he lost it fighting Bourdais and Canada was also a strong run until he hit issues with his brakes. I honestly think that those two points, whilst not being much, will certainly boost his confidence. Beating his team-mate, even if only because Alonso went too deep on that one corner in the last few laps, should also, I hope, add to that.
