Ferrari 1-2 :roofdown:, what a surprise, the red cars were in their own league this time. The battle for the podium was the best, though. Well done, Jarno! Held of McLaren even .

Remember McLaren's mirror problems, dangling about? They didn't get black flagged either.

and Jenson's nose for a whole lap in the same race...

one whole lap? far out

exhaust is somewhat different to both as it was not only a danger to anyone following Kimi but also a danger to himself

My rather mashed up thoughts:

How impressive is Trulli now he has the race pace?

Was interesting to see Jenson admit his own failures ("I've crashed too many times lately") when he could easily blame his dog of a car. If only some others could be so honest...

Good race for Ferrari obviously, didn't really have a preference to who won. Yes the exhaust flailing about was a bit dangerous and maybe it should have been ripped off in the pits, but crikey it's F1. Let's give the cars nice pink fluffy jackets and get the Magic music channel in the garages, shall we? Kimi came home second EASILY, disqualifying extremely competitive cars willy nilly isn't helping anyone is it? (apart from maybe McLaren WINK WINK WINK).

Kova looked comfortable and drove a brilliant grand prix, as did Piquet.

Magny Cours is still toss.

The penalty for me was just about justified. I like to think I'm a fair and reasoning poster and I certainly don't dislike Hamilton, so save your vitriol for others if you disagree, because I can't be arsed.

If it becomes a Ferrari two horse race I'm thinking I'd like to see Massa prevail, especially as the final race is in Brazil.

Massa needs to finish right behind or beat Kimi from Silverstone.
Wasn't it a 1-2 Ferrari in 2006 at Hockenheim? Massa gonna have to drive for points, cause I think Kimi will be flying there.
He has to remember to put fuel in the car for Qually at Silverstone.
Think he needs to drive consistantly and when not winning picking up a podiums. Right until Valencia, then with 2 new tracks and Brazil, it is anyone game.

Hamilton's gonna have to look at winning most of the 10 races left. He can't just assume another Monaco or Australia will come along and he'll take a huge margin out of his rivals.

You can just make a screen name like McLarenFan and then post that in your completely unbiased opinion, everything bad that happens to Hammy is someone elses fault. What a wonderfully modern age we live in, eh?

I guess you've not seen my other posts on Hamilton, then, clown? No, you wouldn't have, you because you've just drifted in here and already started shouting the odds.

The whole issue is so cut and dried that seasoned racing drivers thought the call was marginal, not to mention other issues related to the incident. So, don't come on here, with your ill-informed, high and mighty, hypocritical bollocks, billindenver.

Seasoned racing drivers with historical Hamilton biases you mean.

Look, he overtook by carrying more speed into the chicane. As a result, he was unable to round the turn without being re-passed. And so, he took to the runoff. It's an illegal move. It is in no way a marginal call. Saying that's a marginal call is like saying "well, he started firing a machine gun into a crowd of people but he wasn't looking at them so, so it could just be manslaughter, not murder"

do you race Bill? you seem to know things from a racers perspective. dont worry if i was in Hamiltons shoes i would probably have let him go past again, especially because i drive for McLaren but i have only seen Hamiltons on board shot i would like to see an external shot before i make up my mind.

Yes, currently I run in GT-3 (cars). Prior to that sportbikes and motorcross, prior to that boats and karts, prior to that I raced my brother in our baby carriages...always trying to get the more horsepower (dad) instead of the endurance engine (mom). I really don't see what all the confusion on that pass is from, although like anyone else I can be guilty of turning a blind eye to a favorite who has gotten away with one. It was a mistake, followed by a bad decision to not give the spot back. I've made that same decision and also the better decision to give the spot back so many times now I can't begin to count them. Sometimes the officials (and corner workers) don't seem to notice a pass like that in amateur ranks so we get away with it...other times we don't. At the F1 level...sorry, but that will very seldom go unnoticed. It is what happens when you try to carry more speed in a sweeper or a chicane or if you attempt to outbrake someone on the outside. It's as common as the over under move...a basic staple of motor racing. If it were legal, there would be so many off track excursions just following corners the F1 cars would be wearing offroad tires. Why bother going through a chicane if you can shoot past the guy in front of you..fake like you're trying to make the corner and then just go straight? You were past him prior to going off track...so no harm no foul? Nope...rules is rules.
