According to Steve Matchett, because the pitlane is so short in Magny-Cours, LH only lost around 12 seconds with his drive through penalty. Doubt that would have gotten him too many points...

i worked it out he would have been fighting for sixth

You can't simply take the gaps between drivers at the end of the race - they all bunch up while nursing their cars home towards the end. So he might have still been stuck behind NP as he was for a while

comparing his pace to that of Heikki's taking into account Lewis was ahead of Heikki before his drive through....

dont question me again please :laugh:

That still seems arbitrary. How would you factor in roadblocks like NP? And pitting and all - you'd need some pretty nifty puter simulation power.

I bet they don't really believe that, 'cos i dont!

Don't think they are victimising anyone.

I agree.

The thing is, if Max decides to pick on McLaren, he'll do that big way - but he will not get too many people involved, not because he is nice person but because more people get involved, more chance some of them will double-play and expose Max to the public. How would it look if one of stewards came after the race and said something like "We decided Lewis did nothing wrong but then we received call from Max ordering us to punish him"? Not good for Max and specially not good in this moment of his already shaken position.

If he thinks McLaren is, say, involved in his sex-scandal, he will retaliate - but not so quick, not so obvious and not so minor. He'll rebuild his position first, then come up with another spy scandal or something, and he'll do that long enough down the track that no one can say that is because of...

Im sick of Mclaren fans finding every excuse under the sun to pass off bad races lately i mean hell LEWIS CUT THE CHICANE AND GAINED AN ADVANTAGE. i want them to win as much as any other mclaren fan on this forum but im getting sick of the 'we are unfairly treated by the stewards' bullpoo.

Mosley and Dennis were never friends, yet Mclaren being victimised has only surfaced in the last couple of years......
Ferrari are doing a better job than Mclaren this year, it sucks but thats the truth of it.

Im probably gonna piss alot of pple off with this post........ oh well

Here is a solution. First get rid of Ron Dennis and secondly rename the McLaren team to the Mercedes team and then there wont be no more cheating Ron Dennis to pick on nor a McLaren team for that matter. It will be a German Mercedes team and with no need to have to pick on them. Then the problem will be solved and Mercedes will be able to concentrate on beating both Ferrari and BMW-Sauber.

Mclaren are much the architects of thier own downfall in recent years. It's very sad to see a team like this self destruct

Yeah ME 8)

Darwin, It's... the Bud-O-Meter.
Here's how it works:

Hamilton x talent + missing a chicane on light fuel vs a Toro Rosso + (wheel lock galore)^2 + 1/Kimi black flag + Senna's voodoo doll talisman = P2

:biglaugh::sickman:

funny,

if it takes a super computer to work out what possie Hamilton would have finished if not for the drive through how is darwin able to suggest that he wouldnt have scored points... its a polar outlook DD put forward. stepping on your own feet really.

I don't think anybody involved with McLaren-Mercedes or following the team would claim that the team has been run as slick as it could have been. I, for one, have been disappointed by some of what has been going on at the team. That said, the team's success has also been reduced by the actions and ways of the FIA a number of times.
