Gears of War 2 is being released around the same time as Resident Evil 5. Resi 4 was the :censored: and I can not wait for part 5 in the story.

I haven't played much lately... i have the old xbox and wanted to wait becasue I was undecided as to getting the 360 or the PS3... but for sure :) I think I'm going to get the PS3. The price dropped considerably, i can use it for Blu-ray and i guess i got tired of so many shooters.

Enjoy games like Assasins, Prince of Persia, Resident Evil, Jade Empire, Elders Scrolls and anything with Star Wars and circuit racing sims (NOT street racing arcadey games)... the ocassional shooter's fine, but not in hordes like Microsoft likes...

Anyone here played the Atari 1600 ?? :grandad:
Me and my friends used to play "olympics" with it... we would organize the sports games together and set up a board to keep the scores for each discipline.
 Nothing like playing basketball with a square ball... or baseball with a 2 player field: button + up = homerun
ohh and boxing, the boxers looked like crabs

I'm a fan of cRPGs mostly, but play others sometimes. I recently played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Arcanum. The first one has a very cool atmosphere and a good story, but there's a lot of speech in russian, which I wish I could understand.

'Scuse the dumb question, but what is a cRPG??
Personally, I love RPGs - just finished Oblivion (PS3) and just started Morrowind. Having problems getting into it because to walk anywhere is so sloooooooooooow.
On my DS, NetHack and Dungeon Explorer, although most of my time on my DS is spent reading books through ReadMore.

It's simply Computer Role Playing Game, so an RPG played on a computer. It's to distinguish between RPGs that you can play between people, just with a pen and paper. We're talking about computer games here, so RPG is also fine.

The only RPG I like is Kingdom Hearts 2. It's a hidden gem.

I go for Racers (ov), FPS,TPS and Sports games.

Can anyone recommend me a decent RPG, preferably on the PC?
I adored NWN/NWN2/Baldur's Gate and have played them to death.
I loved Oblivion (on the PS3) but I can't replay it because I don't like their levelling system - I find the levelling system on NWN much more conducive to replaying the game.

I bought Morrowind about a month ago but really, really can't get into it...it's just too slow for my liking.

Bearing in mind I don't think I can play the recent generation of games because my PC has a crappy graphics cards and I can't be bothered to upgrade right now...does anyone have any suggestions for RPGs I can check out? I don't care how old they are as long as the gameplay is good :)

I can give you some examples of older games:

Betrayal At Krondor - very old, but a classic
Daggerfall (previous title of Bethesda, often considered way better than Morrowind and Oblivion in terms of role-play)
Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 (post-apocalyptic, retro-futuristic setting) - my favourite, but you must like this kind of setting
Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magick Obscura (steam-punk, technology meets magick)
Planescape: Torment (similar to Baldur's Gate, but IMO better in terms of story and dialogue)
Wizardry 8 - it's a third part in a trilogy story-wise - Wizardy VI and VII being predecessors - but the previous titles are from early '90s, so a bit too old...

Don't be scared if you see the screenshots. :D

Finished MGS4 this morning at 7.04, after a 13 hour gaming frenzy :D

BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED! I loved MGS1 "Shadow Moses" so when Snake has a flashback, you actually play the first part of the game, incredible! Then you roam about Shadow Moses in the PS3 graphics with old Snake! Brings back lots of Memories of my childhood with my best mate, whom I have completed all the MGS games with :P

Honestly though, fantastic game!

I would recommend playing MGS1,2,3 before playing MGS4 though.. You probably wouldn't understand any of it if you don't!

Class, thanks
I've downloaded a couple of demos so we'll see how we go. I've also found out how to cheat on Morrowind so I set my speed much higher and I'm enjoying the game far more now :)
