Can anyone recommend me a decent RPG, preferably on the PC?
I adored NWN/NWN2/Baldur's Gate and have played them to death.
I loved Oblivion (on the PS3) but I can't replay it because I don't like their levelling system - I find the levelling system on NWN much more conducive to replaying the game.
I bought Morrowind about a month ago but really, really can't get into it...it's just too slow for my liking.
Bearing in mind I don't think I can play the recent generation of games because my PC has a crappy graphics cards and I can't be bothered to upgrade right now...does anyone have any suggestions for RPGs I can check out? I don't care how old they are as long as the gameplay is good
I can give you some examples of older games:
Betrayal At Krondor - very old, but a classic
Daggerfall (previous title of Bethesda, often considered way better than Morrowind and Oblivion in terms of role-play)
Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 (post-apocalyptic, retro-futuristic setting) - my favourite, but you must like this kind of setting
Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magick Obscura (steam-punk, technology meets magick)
Planescape: Torment (similar to Baldur's Gate, but IMO better in terms of story and dialogue)
Wizardry 8 - it's a third part in a trilogy story-wise - Wizardy VI and VII being predecessors - but the previous titles are from early '90s, so a bit too old...
Don't be scared if you see the screenshots.
