You mean Benetton. And because Williams make good cars, Benetton made a terrible one that year. But your point is correct.

It was a shame, Button should never have left Williams, nor screwed them abut with Contracts. Look where he'd be now, with Rosberg.

To be fair, he didn't leave, he was signed for the 1 year gap before Montoya joined. He was never going to stay for 2001

jacques villeneuve aka. jack newhouse aka. driver X aka racer X aka Williams No1. was never praised as much in his hay day as you'd think, i recently bought all 24 issues of F1 Racing magazine 1996 1997 season and they always talk him up with an immediate offensive right after.

the guy has plenty of talent but it seems if you show greatness too early in your career your just laughed at with disbelief and later labelled as a golden boy, just look at lewis hamilton

Jacque was very talented but I always felt his achievements in motorsports were only due to having the best car at the right time. He also probably felt and was submitted to great pressures do to who his father was but 'like father like son' does not always hold truth.

You can relate JV's and LH's first season's in F1 as almost identical, very fast but they were both in if not the best car the second best car on the grid.
