I really doubt Villeneuve would be quick enough, the cars have changed since 2006 and will change even more next year. Remember when Hakkinen made a comeback at the end of 2006 and was miles off the pace? Mind you he had been out of an F1 car for 5 years at that time.

Yeah, but also that he did have to change his driving style a fair bit to suit the DTM and he only had a go on McLaren's simulator and one day's testing at Barcelona. Even if he were completely done, and that's not say he was still Formula One standard in 2006, at least he had talent once. Villeneuve just never had anything!

Ah now to be fair he did ok over in American Indy Cars. He came in and 1996 and looked ok... then hit the long slope...

Villeneuve was not that good a driver in his prime and at all didn't impress during his stints at Renault and BMW. He's clearly completely done, is thirty seven years old, and young drivers such as Vettel, Rosberg, Hamilton, Sutil and Kubica are well ahead of him in the queue. In short, he has no chance in hell.

The 1997 Williams could have driven itself over the line, he got the jump on the rest of the field because he completed 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles of pre season testing...

He's a big cry baby sookie pants and he's been talking to the F1 Racing supporters talking up how advanced the GT Cars are, meaning he could jump straight back into an F1 drive if he wanted to.

This just confirms to me that a BMW drive is up for grabs, the vultures are circling...

Frentzen couldn't, he spent too much time eating tyres, and if Hill had been kept on he could easily have defended the 1997 title without having Schumacher try and barge him off the track.

Frank Williams admitted a few months bk in F1 Racing Magazine tht he regrets ever sacking Hill. That was their biggest mistake.

Ok aparently nobody likes Villeneuve that much... he did good in Le Mans... better than Klien :hehe:
I'd give him a chance :popcorn2: But definitely not at BMW! i still haven't given up on Heidfeld.

I read that too, and at the same time he admitted the reltionship with BMW could have worked better as well.

Im sorry but he has past it, he won the world championship 11 years ago in a car that Patrick head said a monkey could win in and slowly but surely slipped down the field and was outpaced by his team mates ever since.
He wont have what it takes to be competitive, open wheel racing is very different to the tin tops he has tried of late, hell even montoya did better than him getting into nascar - and montoya is a real monkey

Psst don't say that out loud or racechick will get you!!!

I heard him "What an idiot! What a f*****g idiot!" HEY BEFORE ANYONE GETS ON MY CASE ABOUT BEING MEAN I'M JUST QUOTING THE GREAT DRIVER HIMSELF WHEN KIMI ACTED LIKE A F*****G IDIOT :laugh::laugh:
But come on, Montoya a monkey! Did you ever watch him drive?????. I cant believe you actually are a f*****g idiot,Oh I realise what you mean now. he MADE a monkey out of people like Michael Schumacher :yes-270: gotcha

Sir Frank Williams thought he was getting a quality driver when he sacked Hill (not say Hill was not a good driver, but he was hardly on the same level as some of William's recent drivers, such as Mansell, Prost or Senna). What he got instead was a loser. I supposed he learned the hard way to be carefully about the quality of drivers coming from series in the USA. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. The best way to improve yourself is to honestly analyse your self and deeds. That's one of the reasons why Sir Frank and his team have won eighteen Formula One world titles.

Yup Montoya was cool to have on the grid. A bit of a lottery, but fun to watch, and he had the guts to challenge anyone.
