guys get off his case, id love to see the villeneuve name re-enter f1, many blame his BAR gamble as part of the reason he faded to the back of the grid, williams was on a downfall mclaren had their drivers and were happy same with ferrari, and the other teams werent competitive enough.

he was the last williams world champion and it will remain this way for some time to come

I dont know why he wants to. He got dropped by BMW towards the end of 06.

His crooning doesn't make too much dough, ya know...

My friend got that Album imported actually.

For me Villeneuve has lost it. I mean he was interviewed at Le mans last year to see if he would come back next year and he said "only in a good car".

And his wet stint in the race compared to Kristensen proved again he's a shadow of his former self. He should never had left Williams in 1999.

Villeneuve was not that good a driver in his prime and at all didn't impress during his stints at Renault and BMW. He's clearly completely done, is thirty seven years old, and young drivers such as Vettel, Rosberg, Hamilton, Sutil and Kubica are well ahead of him in the queue. In short, he has no chance in hell.

As Patrick Head has said, Jacques did a very good job talking up the fact that he won (Just) in the season's best car with a team mate who had the lion's share of the bad luck.

It would be interesting to see him come back to F1. Why not?

He's an interesting character and an exciting racer... sure, there's young guys that are doing a really good job and have great potential as well, but I'm sure there can be some room for both. After all, some teams could well benefit from his all around experience. For example... in Williams with Rosberg or Nakajima (if Rosberg goes elsewhere). Or in Renault with Bourdais if Alonso leaves... could be interesting. :scratchchin:

Thanks for coming out and saying tht mate, I was worried id get slaughtered for claimin he was never a good driver. TO quote Martin Brundle, "He either won it or binned it."
If Coulthard had stayed with Williams in 96 when he had the chance he would have probs won both em Titles :P Can only dream tho

Im sorry but he has past it, he won the world championship 11 years ago in a car that Patrick head said a monkey could win in and slowly but surely slipped down the field and was outpaced by his team mates ever since.
He wont have what it takes to be competitive, open wheel racing is very different to the tin tops he has tried of late, hell even montoya did better than him getting into nascar - and montoya is a real monkey

I really doubt Villeneuve would be quick enough, the cars have changed since 2006 and will change even more next year. Remember when Hakkinen made a comeback at the end of 2006 and was miles off the pace? Mind you he had been out of an F1 car for 5 years at that time.
