Personally, I think the person under the most pressure is Piquet Jr. Way more than any of the title contenders/front runners/experienced drivers.

yes he's under a lot of pressure too for completely different reasons. I was just talking about potential titlte contenders.

Definitely Hamilton is under a lot of pressure. Not that much more than most of the other drivers are, but he must be feeling it; so of course he will openly admit it, otherwise it would put even more pressure on him... But he does have a good relationship with the team and Heikki, so at least the situation within the team will definitely be more helpful down the stretch...

Will he be able to handle the pressure of carrying the team and winning the '08 WDC?
From what I have seen... I don't think so :nono:

Count your blessings Lewis. Plenty of as good or better drivers haven't got half the chances you do. Sutil for instance.

Oh yes, Hamilton must be under more pressure than any other driver. Those at the back of the field driving inferior cars while having talent oozing out of their ears...no pressure there. Starting mid-grid in the center of all that chaos...nope, no pressure there. Underfunded team fully depending on their driver to save them...no pressure there. Alonso trying to pull a subpar team up to the front on nothing but his skill at driving past the limit....no pressure at all. Kimi...piece of cake.... lets not forget Massa and the infamous ferrari pressure for his performance early this year. Oh yeah, poor old Hammy...he's under so much pressure....not to suck his way to the back of the pack. Is there any amount of pressure Hammilton will not crack under? He throws away a championship his rookie year. This year he seems determined to drive his car to the rear of the field. He rear ends another car IN THE PITS...and still his ego is HUGE. Oh yeah, I'm the next Senna.....pfft. Boy, you need a good smack upside your head.

I have one small bit of advice for Spammy. Get over yourself. You are not Senna. You are cocky like Senna...without his skill set. You are in a fantastic car and yet you manage somehow to hump the proverbial pooch quite often. Tell you what Mr British sensation....strap into a lessor car, like say....a Renault and lets see where that ego of yours takes you. He would melt down faster than body paint in Malaysia.

When he came on the scene I was pretty excited about that kid....but his arrogance, rediculous way he treated Alonso and his total lack of self control has me cheering for anyone beating him at this point. If it were not for his team mate, I would be an official McLarren hater. When he smacked into Kimi I swear to god I yelled like I was standing at the stanley cup finals (except the red wings suck). That race ended in the best way it could in my opinion.

Pressure in an inferior car is different to fighting for a title in a front runner. You know that

He sounds like he's starting to crack a bit. He needs to chill out and try and be more like his own self from last year. Mind you that is easier said than done.

Nah, he's just such a drama queen. That is one of flaws of his character I really dislike.

Definitely. If you chicken up in a great car, your next performance could easily make up for it. If you chicken up in a bad one, it may be your last race.

Just read the Press Conference from Magny Cours and Lewis says what he means by the pressure he feels right now is that there is more pressure from sponsors and to appear in events because last yr Fernando was the most popular, and this yr a lot of people are more interested in him...
So apparently, it is about the side obligations of his popularity.

Well, to be honest, i think he's under much more pressure to perform than in the side gigs; so he took it to the chin there and saved some face.
The side gigs are things that he can always appoint or decline or at least manage so that it doesnt hurt him for his preparation as a driver. Besides all F1 drivers have a busy schedule and promo events anyway...

You chicken up in a crap car and no-one notices. You chicken up in a great car a couple of times and THAT is far more likely to be your last race (More people who can drive real fast want to get in the great cars you see) :fairy:

Massa had 2 bad races and there were reports of his seat in doubt. Kimi made 1 and people talk about him retiring. Lewis has had a few  and there is just... forum users ranting about. :)

Truth is, he has less pressure from his team because he has a good long contract secured and he knows he enjoys a privileged relationship within the team (and Ron Dennis). Not many drivers have this... HOWEVER, the performance pressure is definitely there, whether he wants to admit it or not. So if he wants to be a Champion he needs to rise above this pressure; and from what we've seen... this is Lewis' (and therefore Mclaren's) weakest link.
