I agree with Ecclestone that they are both better or at least as good as. Hammy is nothing so extra ordinary as some make out.
The main thing here is that if someone with talent is in a top car they will shine.

News Flash: This has nothing to do with the fact that I think personally Hammy is a DH or that he drives for McLaren. Believe it or Not

DH?
Dirty Harry?
Devastatingly Handsome?
Demon Hellraiser?
Deadly Harpoon?
Dishy Heart-throb?

No non of those.
The first part is a persons name the second a body part.
Just let me know if you want it in an image for visual effect

Oh I know! Its the sign I do drivers when they try to cut me up-usually men in white vans! no I don't need the pic-got you now.

Err... Hamilton beat Alonso in the same car in ‘07...

LOL
I was going to post this article but then saw that comment on the photo and decided against it... :x

I agree with Bernie however... Kubica and Alonso are the best drivers right now.
And if what Kimi needed was some motivation / competition here it is. He better deliver.

right now..... ok youre basing Kubica on his consistent form thats a given but right now whats Alonso done to be called the best driver? other than youre a fan of his?

I do think that Alonso is probably the best driver on the Grid, yes he finished behind Hamilton last year in the same car but i think it would be a different story if he had stayed at McLaren for another year.

A fan of his, who me ?:hehe:

Right now as in the current crop. Based on all their attributes as drivers and not minding a specific race result or mistakes...

If you look at Renault, the R28 is a Q2 car... and yet Alonso consistently places it in Q3. Note that the other driver is yet to score... However, Alonso looks confused in the races. Almost as if he thinks he's still racing Ferrari, Mclaren and BMW. If he gets it through his head that he would be already doing a terrific job just by placing Renault above Williams, Toyota and Red Bull, he would be having great races worthy of recognition. Remember also, that he joined Renault basically in december in far from ideal conditions...

As for Kubica, I honestly thought Nick was going to do better than him. But with the current conditions regarding tyres and the drivers' overall packages and what they have been able to acheive with such package... I think Kubica has been the best.

Yeah, that small detail, too.

But don't forget another small detail. Alonso helped Hamilton with the car set up for the first 2-3 races.
If Hamilton was doing things on his own from the 1st race he wouldn't have been able to score as many points as he did and, therefore, he would actually be in 3rd position in 2007.

Don't you mean FLATTEN ?

:lightsabre:
Not simply or necesarily faster, but definitely the MP23 would be the car to beat. And since Alonso now knows to treat his teammate accordingly both on and off the track, then maybe faster or at least with more points.

One thing though: Ask... Nelson how much support has he gotten from Alonso and Renault... Ask Lewis the same question w/ Mclaren in 07 (if you get an honest non-arrogant answer from Lewis, I'm 100% certain he got far more support than Nelson is getting).

I'm saying this because of Hammy's mistakes this year, Alonso would have been far ahead of Lewis right now. Thats what I think.
