Isn't the Mclaren just a beauty

There are two answers to that question. Pick either one as my response, I agree with both:

"No" or "Hell no"

i think the mclaren looks the best, its the chrome

Pictures are deceiving: the McLaren's chrome looks cool in photos, but not that great in real life. The new(ish) Ferrari red looks good in photos, but is absolutely stunning when you stand in front of it.

In my view, the McLaren looks the best car on the grid, and it probably has been since Jordan's 1999 livery. Although the cars have funny bits and pieces hanging off them nowadays, the parts on the McLaren are nowhere near as noticeable compared to the other cars, which I think helps. The Ferrari, whilst the new shade of red looks brilliant, has too many aerodynamic devices visible in my view to look the best car on the grid.

I do like the colour scheme, but, also, for some reason or other, the McLaren just seems to disguise all the weird and wonderful aerodynamic parts a lot better than most of the other cars.

Ah. Yeah, you're right about it disguising all the parts. I personally was never a fan of the old black and silver McLarens - I was much more of a fan of, say, the blue of the Prosts or yellow of the Jordans. The FW22 also had a great colour-scheme. I think that the newer McLaren livery has helped to shake off part of the corporate image that I used to see whenever I looked at their cars

I was just focusing on the color scheme because the McLaren's chrome had been brought up.
Now, when I look at the shapes and such, I have to say I've never warmed to the fish mouth wings, so that's a big minus for those cars. The Ferrari solution is much more elegant in my view (plus the holy nose is just ingenious), so I can live with that type of wing.

True. For the last thirty plus years, until the start of 2006, the cars have been painted as cigarette boxes!

I liked the Renny's before they put on that shark fin, and I like the Red Bull RB4 aswell. The Honda used to look great before they put on those dumbo ears. While I admit the BMW F1.08 isnt the prettiest car, I think its far better looking than its predecessor

My opinion too. It looks so much more sleek than the others. I think the sponsors merge in and become part of it, on the other cars the sponsors detract.

how close did you get to the McLaren last year? are you blind? i was right up next to one i even touched one grrrrr and the chrome is stunning! and the paint itself is not cheap! i know of guys who got their cars painted chrome and its something ridiculous like $200 a litre

The West livery was the first livery in F1 to be airbrushed, My favourite West livery was the last, the MP4-20 in 05, it had more black than previous years

its funny you call the bi wings fish mouth when the Ferrari/ last years Toyota solution look more fish mouth like because the nose is connected
