Rossi wont switch. But Rossi in a ferrari would have been something to get excited about!

pretty sure he is on the verge of signing a new contract with Yamaha which will see him into his 30's

if he were to make the switch to F1 he still would need to gain a couple of seconds of pace. Im sure he could given the practice

Has Rossi tested in an F1 car yet?

for sure!

he tested back in 05 i believe and his times were hard to figure because he tested an F2003 which had more downforce than the rest who were testing 05 down force level cars. all in all i think he would have been around 3 to 2 seconds off the F1 boys! Not bad but im sure he would get on the pace in no time with some more tests!

"Most recently Rossi tested the Ferrari in 2006 on January 31, February 1, and February 2 at Valencia. The first day saw Rossi spin out on the damp track into the gravel trap ending his day. On the second day, he posted the ninth fastest time of fifteen drivers, approximately one second behind Michael Schumacher, who himself was third fastest. Rossi lapped faster than seasoned drivers Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber and David Coulthard and Toyota F1's Jarno Trulli.[9] On the final day of testing, Rossi was just a little more than a half second behind Schumacher's best time.[10] Schumacher hailed Rossi as having immense talent and said he would be perfectly capable of moving to Formula One and being competitive immediately"

i was a year early

this was taken from Wikipedia but the writer doesnt bring up the fact he was testing an older car with more downforce.

taken that into account he was about 2 seconds off the pace i remember reading in an article!

It'd be cool to see him in F1 just for a season or even one GP. But not right now..he still has got work to do in MotoGP. I'm sure he's able to win another one of those titles, but more importantly provide us with thrilling races for years to come! Although I'm rooting for Pedrosa, it would be nice if he had some real opponents left.
