I suppose. But I'm still not sure on it.

I think what I should do, really, is get hold of some races from 1994 and earlier, so that I can see what things are like without fuel-stops. It might convert my opinion entirely.

My reasoning or opinion is only due to believeing that there are too many reg's that effect the true overall racing and strategy which is what racing is all about.

Yeah I can agree with you there. I dunno I kinda like the refuelling element in races, not in Qually, the regs on engines tyres and gear boxes for example, damage the real racing for sure.

I think regulations on the cars themselves (aside from certain things such as the height of the cockpit sides, strength of the chassis, having tethers attached to the wheels etc. - basically anything that is there for safety purposes) should be much less strict. Things that are restricted for the sake of being somewhat uniform defeats the object of the technical aspect of the sport. But other regulations, those that will prevent many accidents on-track, should stay, perhaps with some minor re-working where necessary (refuelling whilst the pits are closed, for example).

On this matter, I agree completely with Fact Man. Hamilton's arrogance is sickening, and, saying as he does truly believe that he is God's gift to the earth, he should be judged accordingly. Once again, the Hamilton family's false modesty has been revealed. The whole pack make me want to throw up.

You don't say! You think he's arrogant, never have guessed that.
And arrogance in a racing driver is such an unlikely thing isnt it. I think all racing drivers should be meek and mild.:lol::lol:

ps They all think theyre the best-waste of time them being there if they didnt

You're right.
Take the tyres for example. 05 that didn't work
The current 2 compounds... with the rule to have to use one... it doesnt work...

Doesn't improve racing action one bit.

There's arrogance and then there's over-arrogance. Make comparisons between drivers over the past however-long and you can clearly see it.

I think having only a sole tyre manufacturer is bad for the sport, too. A tyre war would create many more situations where cars that are normally stuck in the mid-field can take podiums and even race wins. Look at Spa '98 as one example. The Bridgestone tyre was a bad tyre to be on for that race. Despite being the faster car that season, the McLaren was terrible on that track in those conditions. The Goodyear, however, was great, with two Goodyear-shod cars taking up first and second places and most of the other finishers were also on that tyre. In fact, all the cars using Goodyear tyres finished in the points-scoring positions.

So I think that would definitely be something for the FIA to change. Not strictly a regulation, but still something which has an impact on the racing.

My friend wrote to Jackie Stewart a few months ago and he replied. Very nice man indeed.

I dno was just mentioning it. He asked him bout his preparations before a race, what frame of mind he was in, and things like that. Seeing as he's studying Sports psychology
