I'm saying he should go heavy, because I think there's more chance of him getting into a decent position that way. As long as he has a good stint on a heavy load, he should be able to get fourth, possibly a podium with a few retirements and some good luck, but I don't think either strategy would see him win unless a series of events played into his hands like at Monaco.

Ok, that clears it up. However, if he goes heavy in q3 then he might end up on grid position 14 or 16 or somtin' like that - tough choices.

I agree. If during practice, the Mclaren pace is not that good, he'll go very light (maybe 3 stop light) to start as close as possible from the front, and then try and pass a few guys in his 1st stint, with his light and faster car. If they have winning pace, he'll probably just go light with the 1st stint (for the same reasons as above) and a heavier 2nd.

So you might end up with 2 pints. hehe

I'd offer to buy you one, but Wiltshire isn't exactly close to here. :P

And I think that McLaren would be wise to reconsider a light first stint. I really think that a one-stop strategy might be their best bet in Magny Cours, to be honest. And who knows? Rain may play a part in the race. But I would like Hamilton only to get a low points finish (I do need him to get points, though) because if the McLarens are good that means Heikki will have a nice shot at taking a victory there. If the McLaren is on the pace. :)

See am I the only one who feels Hamilton may end up hitting someone again if he charges through the field?

I think light too. i think he'll go very light for quali, get pole and be light to cut through the midfield (try to do a GP2 Turkey :D ). If he does get stuck behind anything he'll be on such a short stint they can afford to bring him in, change the strategy and put him out on a clear track. But if he doesnt get stuck, if he gets past....................

Hopefully Mclaren will be on the pace and I hope to see Heikki get plenty of points, I feel Lewis may be light to attempt to get Pole

I think he very well may get stuck behind some cars. If Barrichello keeps up his recent form, then he'll be hovering around the edges of the top ten. We've seen him keep a fair few faster cars behind him this season on a heavy fuel load (being passed eventually, as is inevitable). Equally, if he gets caught behind experienced drivers in lighter cars (Webber, Trulli, Alonso etc.) then they could make things difficult for him. I still think that, if he can, he should aim to pull out a good lap with a decent amount of fuel on board and just try to keep on the gearbox of the guy in front. If he can stay out long enough, he should be able to jump the slower cars like the Hondas and possibly the Renaults (particularly Piquet, if he manages to qualify high enough).

But I guess we'll have to wait and see. My only real fear is a repeat of Bahrain.

Maybe they should have a radar fitted to their steering wheels to detect him... then turn in or lift off.... or Charlie Whiting could just keep playing with the red light.

 How many times has he hit anyone? I can think of very many who need the radar detecteor before him!
