you and me both bud im heading back to NZ soon, one of the few things keeping me in europe is the fact i can watch most of the races in the middle of the day - im gonna miss that

The viewing figures for the Grand Prix are also pretty poor, although they've been like that for a while; Ecclestone was just using it as a bargaining tool.

The internal figures were just as bad. The Aussies seem to like their V8 Super cars and don't know good racing!

Doesn't look good does it? :(

It's essential that there remains a race in Australia, wherever it may be.

Essential for what or whom? Rubbish - the world will go on w/o an Aussie GP!

Shift the Aussie GP and Brazil around now that would generate figures... just like old time.

Not for Bernie though, I can see why in a sense a tea time finale in Europe is a big draw. Miss Adelaide tho :(

The F1 world championship is supposed to have races all over the world. At the moment out of 7 continents they are races on 5 of them. Take Australia away and it goes down to 4. If Canada doesn't shape up they might go as well and Bernie F1 circus will be contained to south america, europe and Asia. The world can function without an Aussie GP but if this continues the fans in the parts of the world where Bernie can't get as much money as he wants will start to desert and so will the sponsors.

The removal of the Aussie GP is part of a larger problem that needs to be addressed

I dunno, I think European races are pretty done too. Germany, France and of course the UK in trouble...
Bernie seems to like the Middle East now.

If the Aussies were really such great F1 fans, then their numbers would be better and they wouldn't have to worry as much. So, the Aussies themselves don't really care that much, thus why not give that calendar slot to a country whose people really really want to host a GP?

that's the problem though. F1 is going to these new countries where the crowd numbers are very poor. Turkey for example looked empty this year, and im sure Shanghai will to.
