Mclaren Fan I do read your posts, it was your post and your view of things i was answering.

You obviously don't read them because you trot out the same lines against me every time, and, despite proving Hamilton's "nice boy" act isn't all it's cracked up to, continue to believe he's a decent little fellow. Even one or two of Hamilton's biggest fans on this forum can recognise he's faults and not just see his good points.

Well i dont always agree with everything you say if thats what you mean by "trot out the same lines against me". But Im not against you, much of what you say i do agree with. Im not interested in whether lewis is or isnt a "nice boy", people will form there own opinions about that and fair enough. The thing i take issue with is the way you diss him for looking out for himself . There is no more cut throat a business than F1 and he has to look out for himself, all the drivers do. I dont understand why you think he should relinquish this right. Not against you though. Not at all :)

He's right to look out for himself, and I'm not saying he should not. The fact is, however, that Hamilton owes McLaren a lot, so, at the very, very least, he should not be talking to other teams in secret and using blitzkrieg tactics against the team when he can't get what he wants all the time.

We have an idea of what some of the top drivers make. Anyone have any idea on Kubica? His contract is up for renewal and Ferrari and Renault are looking at him. How much is BMW paying him now?

So back on topic:

Robert Kubica: http://www.f1technical.net/news/9000

"Of course, Mario Theissen wants to extend this contract, but he will need to increase the salary of the youngster. At the moment, Kubica only earns one quarter of 10 Million-man Nick Heidfeld."

After today I think that price is going up. So are BMW North American Sales

Yeah, owning a new a new BMW crossed my mind after seeing them win.

Anyone know how much a mechanic makes? Race Engineer? If I were to be a mechanic Id only ask for unlimited supply of beer and to borrow the team yacht for a weekend, thats all.

OK, now I am getting a little closer. This is from 2006:

So, without further ado, lets break down F1's top earners. (in millions)
#1 Kimi Raikonnen - $51 - No world titles but plenty of potential.
#2 Fernando Alonso - $35 - Two world titles but still not the highest paid
#3 Ralf Schumacher - $25 - Apparently Toyota is just now figuring out they signed the wrong Schu
#4 Jenson Button - $16 - Imagine how much he'll milk when he wins more races.
#5 Rubens Barrichello - $12 - Better start giving Jens more trouble
#6 Felipe Massa - $11 - Massa is out to prove he is worth 5 times more
#7 Jarno Trulli - $9.6 - Oh Toyota, how backwards are you?
#8 Giancarlo Fisichella - $9 - Renault is really saving some change this year on drivers
#9 Takuma Sato - $7.7 - You - Have - Got - To - Be - Kidding - Me! He made more than Alonso last year
#10 David Coulthard - $7.2 - David's not worried, he's got plenty in the bank
#11 Mark Webber - $7.2 - Nice to see some parity at Red Bull. Adrian Newey makes more than either.
#12 Nick Heidfeld - $6 - Nick must be hoping that Kubica will make him faster, and richer!

After that it gets a little harder to rank, but its known that Lewis Hamilton, Robert Kubica and Heikki Kovailanennenene all make less than $2.8 million, which is still pretty extravagent. Some pretty big gaps between team-mates, but none as stark as that between Sato and his Super Best Friend who will make about $200,000.

Now it would cool to see who is up and who is down in 2008, although Super Aguri is obviously down

Based on that Ralph takes the 'honors' at 5 million per point - more per point than the world champ ><
