Well two quotes from Straight talking Aussy Webber.
"it'll be good for the spectators" and "I hope they've fueled the Safety car loads"

That says it all

Yeah, Webber isn't half coming up with some top quotes lately.

After the surface of the track was breaking up in qualifying and with a 70+lap race to go, should the FIA and Bernie now concider getting rid of Canada. Bernie moanes so much about tracks not being good enough ets and even though they have spent lots of money on the circuit it is getting worse.

FU.

You think a problem with paving can't be fixed?

That's kinda out of line there madbrad but it suit's your username :P .

Stupid things get said in here with increasing regularity.
I should change my username to :x brad

It's all good bro but having an opinion should not lead to one being disrespectful but again that's only my opinion.

Back o/t HELL NO the Canadian GP should not be removed and today's race was a perfect example and model of why it should stay.

The track breaking up this weekend is hardly a sufficient reason for getting rid of it. The track can easily be resurfaced. Further, it's only Grand Prix in North America, has an enthusiastic crowd, and generally produces a great race. Canada must stay!

Didn't I just say that? :wink::D

I heard talk of getting some other track engineers from NASCAR or IRL to look at turn 10. They apparently have some experience with older tracks in the US and have come up with some new asfalt technologies. Its a day late and a dollar short, but maybe have in place next year.

God knows they couldnt get the people who did Hockenhiem or Bahrain to come and consult with them somehow i think turn 10 is gonna be a mess next year

Yeah especially with the slicks.

If they know it's going to be a problem, why can't they just resurface the track a couple of days before hand? I thought maybe that the tarmac needed time to harden fully or something, however I was watching a program on Heathrow airport earlier and they were showing the airfield asphalt being resurfaced overnight, with big jets landing a couple of hours later. So I don't think time is actually a factor unless F1 circuits are made of substantially different asphalt compounds? Is it just a cost thing or am I missing something more fundamental?

It IS special asphalt: carbonfibre infused tar with titanium dotting for durability

Not sure if you're joking or not there DD, but I wouldn't be surprised. I'm going to ask an obvious question that hasn't been asked yet:

Why did this part of the circuit degrade more than the rest of it? When they find out the reason, then they can find a sure fire way to rectify the problem, rather than make a guess now. Am I correct?

If it is weather for sure then why aren't we seeing the same problem at, say, the wall of champions? Is it because there is a wall there which is sheilding it for most of the day? I mean, duh!

A five year old might tink of this approach.
