I dont really know much about her, but if she is a good driver then think of the weight difference, she must be what? about 9 stone, tops? I bet most of the guys are about 12 or 13, dont hold me to that though.

Translation? Can we please go metric or MAYBE non-metric of the more common variety like pounds and miles?

She is 100 pounds, while the lightest guy in the field is 120 pounds.

Thats less than 8 stone then? I think? not too good at maths :?
20 pounds difference isnt so big. not as big id guess as the difference between the lightest and heaviest guys

Thank you - I can deal with metric and US non-metric stuff, but stones and what not is too esoteric for me

I could so see a pink helmet zipping around the track.

I've thought about this at other times, only restriction might be neck muscles but that can be overcome.

Danica gets testi'

Honda has confirmed that Danica Patrick - Top Gear's favourite woman driver - will test its F1 car at the end of this season, according to Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung.

The American star has been riding on the crest of a wave since her ground-breaking victory in April, when she became the first female ever to win an IndyCar race.

Patrick has dropped plenty of none-too-subtle hints regarding her dream of driving in F1, and this test confirmation takes her one step closer to achieving that.

The newspaper reports that Honda CEO Nick Fry told them that the test will occur after the 2008 F1 campaign... if not before.

"We will put her into our car after the season at the latest and see how quick she is," said Fry.

However other reports suggest that no official contact has been made between the two parties, but that Fry would be more than happy to talk to her about a test if she was interested.

Considering how much hoo-hah we caused with our Danica to F1 blog a couple of weeks ago, we're expecting this news to cause a bit of a storm.

Yes she might be a bit of a winger, but getting some more emotional personalities into F1 can only be a good thing, can't it Jeremy?

Anyway, it's all up to her now. If she wants to silence the detractors, then she just has to prove that she's fast in an F1 car.

I'm not convinced about whether she's fast enough, but this test should offer a clearer view of how good she really is.
