Well I had my first race today at Donington and it couldn't be in any more difficult conditions, on a damp track that was drying. I qualified 27th out of 32 against quite a lot of experienced competitors and due to a weird method they decide the grid on.

I got a great start and overtook a few cars but then lost quite a lot of places in the first corner as I took a very tight line. A lot of people span off and some span out all together, but I kept it on track and didn't put a wheel wrong. I finished last out of all the finishers as I lost places thanks to the car's acceleration suffering a lot and afterwards there was a lot of water in the engine that was contributing to it.

Still I had good fun and brought the car home in one piece, unlike a few other competitors who had bits of bodywork mising and dangling off. Now I'm looking forward to moving forward at Silverstone next month.

Glad you enjoyed the race, sounds like it was plenty of fun.

I still want to get into racing, but I think it will take a lot longer than I had originally thought due to being on minimum wage and having to pay for a lot of other things, first.

How much is Vee? It does look good

I'm pretty much set to move up to cars next season if I have the cash, but I have to buy new helmet and suit, as it only covers Karting... At least it means I would get another paintjob lol.

For racing the Vee, the race-hire outfit guy is going to send me the bill this week so I'll let you know.
