Ferrari is back to their dirty days. Leclerc makes a dirty move crashing and calling a red flag when he is on pole position. Stewards are stupid enough not to see the dirty act.
He can't drive on the streets where he has grown up but still on pole. Go figure. Mazepin does better.

Um who did this most recently. Yes that Mercedes team driver Rosberg reversing on to the track and bringing yellow flags in 2014 to secure pole at Monaco. Dirty lot that Mercedes team as well I guess John Doe.

UPDATE: An initial inspection of the gearbox in
@Charles_Leclerc’s car has not revealed any serious damage. Further checks will be carried out tomorrow, to decide if the same gearbox can be used in the race.

So you confirm it was a dirty move. Now Ferrari took the revenge.

What they know is, their only chance is to be on the pole at Monaco so they could have a chance for podium in a race. We will see, race is not over yet.

No way for me or anyone to confirm what was in Leclerc's thoughts. Or Rosberg's. Only you are making such claims about Ferrari and Mercedes.

Binoto says the broken driveshaft on Leclerc's car was not checked as it was on the side of the car not damaged by the crash into the wall. What a mistake.

On Leclerc's crash in Q, he made a mistake, if it was deliberate, he would hot have hit the barriers so hard, you can see in qualifying that he hit the Armco on the corner before, from there he was a passenger, we now know it was very detrimental to Ferrari and Leclerc, not taking the start.

From a neutral's point of view, Monaco has brought some spice back in the championship, and just for a change, it was Mercedes who made the bad strategic call, effectively losing Hamilton 2 places, while Red Bull played a blinder with Perez. Another solid drive from Norris for a Monaco podium.

But overall, it's Monaco, the dullest race on the calendar. I agree with Hamilton that it's boring from a spectator's view, but I find his comments before the race disingenuous after his poor qualifying performance, I'm willing to bet if he was on pole, those comments wouldn't have been made.

I think overall, the biggest disappointment for me, as a neutral was Leclerc's failure to start the race, I'd have loved to have seen Max and Charles going wheel to wheel into turn 1. I feel sorry for Bottas, Mercedes screwed up royally, cross threading that wheel nut.

Come on, don't think he is so innocent, even Mazepin didn't do that, no safety cars in the race and yet the one who has grown up in those streets finds himself in the barriers. You can't say it is his inability to drive.
Anyway it was a historical stupid move to gain pole for another driver and keep Mercedes away from the podium.

You can't say it is his inability to drive. But you can say his first sector time was not stellar, so he wanted to make up for it and pushed too hard, i.e., hit the armco at the chicane entry which broke his right suspension making him a passenger over the yellow sausage curb and into the barriers. Your Qanon-esque conspiracy theories are completely unfounded and frankly ridiculous. :rofl:

Was boring race as usual in this place. Even have not Leclerc and Bottas gone out would still be follow leader game.
So my thoughts are this.
lec didn’t crash on purpose, but if he hadn’t he not be on pole.
LEWIS was off pace all weekend, best he get I think would be 5th but team did bad strategy this time. He angry in quali that tyres not warmed as he’d suggested, quali everything here. Poor Bottas, 🤔 but Bottas , not sympathetic any more, too may bad drives. Bad mistake again from Mercedes mechanics. Did a stripping off the nut.
Ferrari was good here, very unfortunate Leclerc make the crash, I think he’d win. Sainz does very good.
Perez does very good drive, make up many places.
Vettel, surprise good drive, not liking him usually. But I think when choosing how drivers perform is bad to base it on hate or like of the person, has to be on the driving, Vettel did good driving.
What happening with RIcciardo? Something the matter with car? I think Norris better driver but didn’t think by this much.
I think that’s all. Please let’s go away from Monaco!!

Formula One is willing to alter the circuit layout at the Monaco Grand Prix if there is a chance it will improve racing.

Sunday's race in Monaco featured just one overtake in 78 laps when Mick Schumacher barged past Haas teammate Nikita Mazepin at the Fairmont Hairpin on the opening lap.

All other position changes during the race were either a result of pit stop strategy or retirements.

The 93-year-old street circuit has hosted increasingly processional races in recent years as F1 cars have become wider and faster, making overtaking difficult on such narrow streets.

The layout of the Monaco track has evolved with the development of the principality's harbour area over the decades but has remained largely unchanged since minor alterations to the Swimming Pool section for safety reasons in 2003.

F1's managing director of motorsport, Ross Brawn, said his team of circuit designers would look into possible changes for future events with the aim of improving overtaking.

"We'll take a look," Brawn said. "But it won't be the first time someone has taken a look at doing something like that and no one has come up with a solution so far.

"But we do have tools now. We have built our overtaking simulation tool and we will certainly have our people take a look at it, but it's pretty challenging.

"People often say why don't you change the tyre strategy, or things like that, but the teams adapt.

"They just find tactics to overcome it, so I don't think tyres or strategy is going to make a lot of difference.

"We've got new cars [as a result of a new set of regulations] next year, so it will be interesting to see what evolves with that.

"It's a brilliant event, but we all know the limitations of the track."

At 2.1 square kilometres, Monaco is the second smallest sovereign state in the world after the Vatican City, making it difficult to extend the track beyond its current layout.

Formula E recently raced on the same layout and included its "attack zone" -- an area off the racing line that drivers must use twice during the race to gain a power boost -- on the outside line around Casino Square.

Brawn ruled out including a similar feature in F1 to encourage overtaking, saying short cuts and gimmicks are not part of F1's plans.

"You need to avoid the trickery, like having bits that you have to go on several times a race," he said. "There is some racing where you have to divert and go through an overtaking lane, I don't think we should do any of that type of thing.

"But we will certainly look at it [other ways of improving racing]."

Asked if a dull race each year at F1's flagship event was damaging for the sport, Brawn replied: "No.

"The thing this demonstrates is how you can build a huge spectacle around the race.

"It's a great event, massive history, massive atmosphere and it's a race every driver wants to win.

"It's a different sort of racing and I don't think variety is a problem."
