Published reports in France have the Formula 1 wanting to move the French Grand Prix from Magny Cours to Paris. And Disneyland Paris appears to be the preferred site. The French prime minister is on board. Disney appears to be on board. F1 likes the site.

So what's the hold-up? Hey, it's Formula 1! As always, the hold-up is money. Disney doesn't want to pay the estimated $31 million in expenses to run the race, and is waiting for the French government to step up instead. And heaven forbid that F1 pays to run its own races.

What do you guys think of that idea? I love it, I'm a huge Disney fan. For me, it'd be indulging two passions at once

If it's money they're struggling to front, they may end up having to sell the Disney castle to Bernie.

Stupid idea, Bernie thinking about money again. He owns a perfectly good french track himself at Paul Ricard. Why doesn't he put his money in his pocket and build some grandstands instead of demanding others do? (eg. Silverstone)

-Shrugs- Disney has a sporting venue at Disney World, this would just be a European expansion (In addition to the football camp already at Disneyland Paris)

Disney land in europe has never had a fantastic financial record. To stage and promote a GP there would be bad for them. It's up to the French Govt... id support a disney track as long as Tilke didn't design it... then it'd be a bit of a Mickey Mouse.

:P:P

Ach come on, that one was waiting to be said.

F1 and Walt Disney is a combo that is the stupidest thing i've read (other than bud's posts  ). Ewman is right. Bernie owns a track why doesn't he invest and show the world the kind of grand prix he wants. Cheapskate!

The words "Bernie" and "spending money" don't often appear in the same sentence together.

Wrong, Disneyland Paris has been doing great business for at least half a decade.

Kinda, but i mean they were in meltdown over the 1990s. it'll be stupid if they move it there anyways.
