Ok, this has been the longest winter break in my memory and it's still going on. Being home all the time, it would be so nice to have a little distraction with some racing, but nooooo!
Ross Brawn is babbling about an early July start date for the season with up to 19 races like 3 weekends a race, one weekend off, 3 weekends a race, one weekend off, etc., with 2-day races (thus, condensed schedule) and with the first race in Europe behind closed doors. If that's not possible, he's talking about a later start in October in order to cram in the minimum number of 8 races for a championship possibly extending racing into January.
Todt is talking about the need for changes in how F1 goes about the business, the budget cap may have to come down even more (150 or 100m). Zak Brown is talking about the possibility of F1 losing up to 4 teams due to the impact of Covid-19.
Frankly, I'm worried that this whole mess might deal a lethal blow to F1 as we know it.
Any opinions?
