:(

sad days for renault ahead, i wont be able to support fa if hes in a ferrari, dont blame him but, i guess it will happen if theres a seat spare

ive never really liked KR, always thought he doesnt really care about the racing more the money, he has great talent but hes not like MS, FA, LH who always want to win

without FA reault wouldnt be in the points i think and renault are the sort of team that wont run around at the back, theyd quit before that, as martin said in the Q today, they havent really been that good since they lost the mass dampner, not that thats the only reason,

really hope they dont leave!

They have a j-damper now :P

Anyway, maybe a straight swap between NH and FA is in the cards?

Alonso is a great driver, but I'm not sure he would fancy competing against Raikkonen, or even Massa. There is a chance he could leave, so that would allow Alonso the chance of a move. For me, Raikkonen's career has been slightly disappointing. He wasted is time at McLaren, and although he now seems to have shown more effort at Ferrari, his retirement would be typical of is former self. Not many people have been gifted with the speed Raikkonen has, it's a real shame that he could throw it away completely.

Taking Michael Schumacher down to the wire the one year McLaren built him a top 2 car and he was a team leader was wasting his time?

I gave it some thought and...
since his unpleasant departure from Mclaren, I'm sure Alonso's the one driver on the grid right now mostly determined to nail them as soon as he gets the chance. And he is one the most complete drivers out there (if not the most). So, if Mclaren and Lewis actually do become the force to beat in the next 1-2 yrs, then I'm sure this is going to be taken into acct. by the guys at Maranello.

I'd hate to see them boot Felipe though :| and Kimi is just too impressive, albeit not as complete as Alonso... so let's say, if Kimi retires then.... Bienvenuto Fernando ! :)

Raikkonen was happy to gurn that his car was never fast enough. He wasn't quite so good at coming up at solutions on the test track. His physical fitness was also pretty shabby for a Formula One driver. He seems to have turned a corner at Ferrari, a team at which he can win more titles. If he wants to give up Formula One, that's his choice, but it will be a loss for Ferrari and the fans.

C'est Fritalien, non è vero?

:D Close! but no.
Its Español + Italiano

Bienvenido = spanish
Benvenuto = italiano

:)

ma io non parlo italiano... solamente Español, Français, Inglese e Holandese.

English translation PLEASE!!!! :P:mrgreen:

Oh nevermind I probably dont want to know.

:D
don't worry, its nothing dirty... surprisingly, DD has kept her hormones under control this time :D

DD asked if "Bienvenuto" was French-italian... But i responded she was close, cause its actually Spanish + Italian...
as Alonso (spain) + Ferrari (Italy). So there you go: Bienvenuto Fernando.

Well, I could argue it IS Fritalian because of bienvenu and benvenuto - that's why I asked  But your combo of Spanish and Italian is a logical one.

Im with you on this on Mclaren Fan. Nobody can deny that Kimi doesn't have amazing natural talent, many of his greatest races and qually laps have been due to his ability to find something extra. But for me he's in a bit of a time warp :S seems much like the James Hunt era. He's mainly interested in the high life and the booze (lol) rather than updating the car and pushing for his improvement. If he had put the work in, im sure he would have improved tht 04 and 06 Mclarens and challenged for the title. Instead he just seemed to expect the cars would be competitive without any extra work by himself. Also 06 I think he was Ferrari bound and wasn't interested once it became clear he couldn't fight for the title.

Im not a massive fan of Kimi, I find him quite boring, but that's not denying his ability to drive... thts why he's champion. Let him retire if he wants... he can fall off boats drunk and do whatever he does... ride bikes against Mark Blundell?

Certainly i'm surprised Fernando Alonso would sign for Ferrari, especially after the Monza 06 episode. However Luca did praise the hell out of him at the end of last season. I know it was just a mere pop at Mclaren, but look at the Driver market for 2010? Alonso's probs the driver i'd go for, he's the best available.

Why?
Double world champion
Effective car developer (something Ferrari will need with Lewis and Heikki probs getting to grips with developing tht Mclaren by 2011)
I think Kubica, Vettel and Rosberg have amazing talent, but I don't think much is going to change.
I see Kubica staying at BMW at least till 2011. Vettel will probs sign a two year deal at red bull.
And I have this sneaky feeling we'll see Rosberg in a BMW...

Could be an interesting can of worms. Who will leave Ferrari after 2009?
KR or Massa? KR seems to be favourite, but if he stays he would expect to be no1 driver, will FA accept that? maybe he would if its the only way he can get to a fast car. If Massa stays, he could well be outperforming KR by then so he would not go No2 to FA either. I dont think that FA would work well at no 2, or even equal. He has shown many times that he throws a wobbler when he cant get his own way, he is very immature in that sense.
Maybe both KR & FM will leave and Ferrari will have FA & ? Kubica? he would be good in a Ferrari and may well start beating FA in that scenario - so more wobbler's from FA -- yeah - a can of worms in prospect!! if the rumours are true of course.
A comment that FA made over the weekend did sound strange to me at the time. It was something like - ' teams go up and down and we (drivers) have to move about to stay with the faster teams' he then went on to say how he thought that Renault were making real progress blah blah.

Well I hope that is correct as Alonso is a great driver and I certainly would like to see him at Ferrari, but a lot earlier than 2010. 2009 would be nicer. What I would like is for Kimi to win this year (Althought Massa would be great too if he wins) and then for Kimi to retire and Alonso take his place.
