Hey a new name in pole position, Verstappen. He is the 100th different driver in F1 to have gotten pole. And he did it with a Honda motor. Amazing. Also first pole ever for the Netherlands and the first Honda pole since Aus 2006.

Haha it has been ages Lewis finished the race, we are still waiting for the last member of the podium. Nobody should be accepted to podium with such a gap.

Once again a great win from Lewis. It was the most exciting Hungarian Grand Prix I have ever seen, overtook Verstappen from a 20+ gap and almost lapped the Ferraris.

Once again Team Mercedes shows the rest how to do it right. IF Gasly gets his act together Ferrari may end up in 3rd place.

And once again f1.com/vote shows Max Verstappen as driver of the day, go figure this nonsense voting Maybe the voters like the one who is overtaken from a 20+ seconds gap instead of one who does the overtake!

Some personal thoughts:

Hungaroring definitely a drivers track as the only four drivers on the lead lap were wearing three different compounds of tires-at least for a while.

Honda power is back! Great seeing them drive a wedge in between Merc and Scuderia. Now its a 'horse race'. Curious to see who else might seek out a Honda power unit for 2020?

Interesting the comment from Raikkonen on grid prior to the race, e.g., how the steering wheel was 'boiling hot' in his hands as he picked it off the body to install it on the post. Fortunate the electronics in the steering wheel were not fried. Umbrella's for steering wheels in the future?

Williams, sigh, ... Russell did manage a P16 at +2 laps; Kubica struggling at P19 +3 laps. Dunno. Aero upgrades may have helped on Russell's car, but for KUB?
