Heidfeld failed to make Q3 today, and ITV didn't sound surprised at all. He isn't having as good a year as last year, and I don't think Dr Mario will be too pleased by this. Could he be on his way out if he doesn't improve? Apparently somebody on here mentioned he's already been given the wake up call.

If he were a rookie.. he might have some arguments. But the way I see it, he is in a pretty awful situation. He has a top car on his hands and fails to make it thru Q2. On the other hand, guys like Nico and Alonso have a lesser car and place it in Q3...

Things are not looking good for Nick. :| I definitely think the car doesn't suit him. But this is Sauber's best car to date.. so if it doesn't suit one of their drivers, I don't think the team will be eager to go back for him. Especially when the other driver is delivering with convincing form...

Kubica's raw speed has rattled his confidence

Your right and Nick's got his work cut out for him if he want's to keep his ride.

It is true that this season's car suits Kubica's driving style slightly better, but Heidfeld should be able to adapt. I'm prepared to give him a few more races, but after then he will start to run out of excuses and need to produce the goods.

I think something was wrong with his car. He brought it in with like 3 minutes left in Q3, either that or he just gave up which I doubt. I like Nick, but I would like to see Nico in a BMW.

Kubica has raw pace to which nick has no reply to. Give him till the end of the season and then make a decision. I think he is a valuable tester and I'm sure his feedback help kubica get the most out of the car

Bullocks! In this day and age you can't wait till the end of the season. Talks are going on NOW, the silly season is on NOW. There's movement according to rumors that see FA go to Ferrari. Maybe it's just a bait for Theissen to make a move, cut loose loser Nick and sign up FA.
Re. testing: yes, NH could be a good tester. No, not for RK as their styles evidently are very different.

This is the first time all season that nick is out of the top 10 and considering that Monaco is not a proper race track i'd give him the benefit of the doubt of this is just a one off. If you do get rid of him who are you going to replace him with? Another Rookie? Kubica is in no position to be team leader and i don't think he has got the know how yet to set up the car properly something that nick brings to the team regardless of driving style. FA is not going anywhere mid season and i doubt he can get used to the team and bring victories this year anyway. He ain't that good!

NH has underperformed all season long, always behind RK. His not making q3 today is just another nail in his coffin.
No, I'm not saying he'll get sacked mid season and replaced by FA next month. But they are going to be talking to people NOW for next season, so NH should start looking around for another ride...

I agree. but in that quali bmw sent there cars out way to late i started to yell at the tv. In monaco you cant risk going out late like a normal track because theres a very good chance of being held up, i think NH should of been sent out alot earlier because he cant really get a good lap 1st time. and he only got 1 lap because his final one there were yellows.

I dont think nick has underperformed all season he has always been behind RK keeping him honest. RK is a great qualifier and thats why he is always ahead of heidfeld, if heidfeld out qualied kubica then heidfeld would beat him in that race.

Quali is part of the performance!
Look, in every race in which both BMW Sauber drivers finished, RK had the better of NH. Plus RK leads NH in the points. Underperformed! Why else is he under pressure, eh? Underperformed!

Maybe it's time Heidfeld shaved off his beard, would that make a difference?

yes he has only underperformed in quali but thats only 1/2 the battle, in most races hes behind rk but 1 mistake and heidfeld will pounce.
