I think that the truth is much simpler, Ockham's razor would say that Ferrari just pitted Kimi too soon.

Go back and look at Kimi's tires on lap 20. They aren't too bad. Lewis ran the super soft till 6 or 8 laps longer and he had tires left at the end, when Kimi wad down to canvas. He was lucky not to have a failure.

I think Kimi had the win stolen from him by another Ferrari bad decision. But it wasn't the explanation Pirelli gave regarding setup time. That was B.S. They just plain pitted too soon.

Shame is that Kimi MAY be shunted out when he is clearly in superb form. Admittedly I'm a Kimi fan. Ferrari will regret the decision if they don't keep Kimi at least one more year. Charles LeClerk is a great talent but he needs at least one more year in a "junior" team before he is ready for prime time.
