So F1 will trial a new Shield in 2018 while ditching the unloved Halo concept as well as Red Bull's Aeroscreen. Word is that the Shield doesn't cover the entire cockpit, i.e., is still open similar to the Aeroscreen, but at a shallower angle than the Aeroscreen.
Anybody seen a pic of the Shield yet?

I saw that, too. That's it? No better renditions?
And it really doesn't provide that much more protection for the driver, does it?

It is level with the top of the helmet and would help in a Massa type of incident. It might be a bit hard to see through especially in the wet.
