The reward should be personal achievement such as poles, podiums and wins, basically excelling in their sport and maybe a financial bonus for performance. I have no issue with an individual title, but it's incompatible with it being a team sport when drivers are on an equal competitive footing. Considering that Hamilton ended up with 10 wins to Rosberg's nine, I don't understand how he was not given even opportunity and the way Mercedes helped him out with creating additional power units for a single penalty. He is a very talented driver but he seems to believe the conspiracy theorists that constantly claim he is being screwed by Mercedes.
