How do you rate the first race of the season around Albert Park?
#439600
A 5/10 for me. Much better than last seasons Aus snoozer but still just a continuation of the way 2015 ended, a Merc one-two.

The Merc drivers made it difficult for themselves but the car is just too strong for the rest.

Rosberg keeps his string of victories over Hamilton going .

Definitely about the strategy!! Ferrari almost had it figured out;
but, I have a feeling there's more to the not choosing the mediums
than we're being told... sigh...

I actually went for a seven, probably because I went into the race with such low expectations that it actually seems quite good, plenty of decent battles throughout the field and if it weren't for Alonso's accident, Vettel and Ferrari could have made the strategy work for them and won the race.

Not sure about too strong - tire strategy played a major role this time.

Merc on the mediums was almost as fast as the Ferrari on the softs in Aus. I am hoping that this was just due to the particular conditions in Aus which is a unique circuit. Bahrain might be different.

Power wise the qually results puts the Merc .5 to .8s faster (was the W07 even turned up all the way?). With Ferrari low on tokens in season development to make up the gap will be difficult. Further tuning or maximizing the off season upgrades though may produce the horse power they need.

I am very surprised that someone rated this race as a 5. It is a 7 at the very least.

There were several changes of lead, a surprising start, strategy and overall, a hard fought race. Lots of action too. Just the sort of race to get us started for a new season.

The end result should not come into it. Yes, it was a Merc one two, but rating a race should involve rating the excitement, not the end result.

8/10.
