In an interview with Sky F1, World Champion Lewis Hamilton addressed the issue diversity in the sport, stating that much of the attention that he receives may have resulted from his position as the F1’s first ever black driver.

Yet there is another issue of diversity that has not been addressed. There are more women working at the highest echelons of the sport than ever before so how long will it be before we see a female driver in a race?

This blog looks into this in more detail: https://apexracingpr.wordpress.com/2015/03/26/will-f1-ever-have-a-female-driver/

Equality is a good thing, if there isn't any attempt to make up the numbers "just because" we need to be equal (i.e. same number of males/females).

Personally, I think being treated fairly is more important than being treated equally.

In any profession, if you can not make he cut, then you don't deserve to be there, simple as that! The question you have to ask is has Suzie Wolff matched or even gotten close to the current race drivers? she needs to match or beat them to earn a race seat, no-one should get a race seat because of their physical attributes.
