Kimi is out...sigh

But on the bright side, if JB can keep going and another drops out, he'll score a point!

Looks like it was a pit lane screwup that caused Kimi's retirement, unsafe release, left rear wasn't securely attached!

I knew something went wrong in the pitbox....

F1 is finally back :)

As a Ferrari fan i'm very satisfied with this weekend. Seems Ferrari are equal to Williams over a single lap but on race pace have the edge. Also Ferrari are probably the only team who can say they have closed their gap to Mercedes. Shame that the wheel issue cost Ferrari what would have been a decent 3-5 finish but it was an encouraging weekend overall.

Hamilton I feel had Rosberg under control the whole race - every time Nico closed up he just put in a couple of quick laps and pulled it out. That said they seemed to be marginal on fuel so I do think they were going for it and not cruising. At the moment, only Ferrari and Williams have any chance of beating Merc - the others will be lucky not to be lapped on a regular basis.

Great drive from Nasr in the Sauber and he was my driver of the day. Hulkenburg did well to drag the Force India into P7, it may not be quick but its reliable unlike most other teams.

On another note, when was the last time we had no penalties during a grand prix weekend? It was nice to see that the result was totally unaffected by events in the stewards office for once.

Ferrari are back. Sagi will be happy. I am actually happy that Vettel is managing a great performance so far. First Ferrari appearance and a podium. Kimi could've been up there too if it wasn't for the screw up. Seems like our team are returning to form.

I actually really enjoyed this race - I feared it'd be a snooze fest but there was great, controlled racing from the rookies, and the champions all did the best they could, particularly Hamilton and Vettel.

Such a shame for Verstappen...hopefully he'll come back stronger and be able to get a decent result!

Enjoyed what I saw this morning. It was broadcast live 1 - 3 am and we kept falling asleep. Hamilton's drive was fantastic, Nico was solid but nice to see Ferrari showing so well. From what we saw it looked like plenty of excellent racing behind the leaders. Well done Sauber. Why Arnold, he did ok but I've always enjoyed watching ex F1 drivers ask the questions. Looking fwd to a very entertaining F1 season.

Some robust defending from Button for 12th place, kinda surprised that Button didn't get a drive through for chopping Perez.

He left him plenty of room.

From the TV coverage I saw, it looked like Button chopped across, Perez was more than 2/3rds alongside when Button turned in. I can't help thinking that if that move was high in the points, punishment would have been swift. I personally don't even think it was a marginal chop, clearly Button's fault, maybe he was daydreaming in his HONDA DREAMS car!

I get why you might have thought that, but from some other angles it looks like Perez was actually moving away from the apex and not following it round, the angle Button was taking round the corner there was always room at the apex had Perez not moved out a bit wide.

All round a very encouraging start to the season. Lots of teams in contention for points, looks like we might have a great battle between Williams and Ferrari during 2015, strong debuts from all rookies, Kimi looks more comfortable with the car ( just no luck), and McLaren managed a full race distance giving them valuable data and feedback to build with! What's not to like!! :)

Sauber with Ferrari power, correct?
Impressive!

Yeah Sauber are Ferrari guys

Looks like they figured out how to make a "competitive" engine?
Williams/Ferrari look to be good for a close 2nd place spot.
I'm still holding out hope for Lotus with their Merc engines.

 Very happy that we've done well over the winter; but, not so much :nono: with that pit crew!!
I think Kimi would have given Massa a real run for his money, if things had worked out; but, we'll never know!!

Ah, well... next time!!
