Bernie's greed to the detriment if F1 we've talked about. Here's another take on the failure of emerging markets that should have succeeded. South Korea, with its big car building industry, and India . I've read a bit about India and it has a history in motor racing.
Here's an article on the topic.

Very informative article RC.

When the stark facts and maths about hosting a race are laid out like that, its obvious the candle has been burnt both ends by the greedy CVC/Bernie clique

To get FIA approval for your track you need to spend a fortune or build a new single purpose track. Then you need to pay the huge hosting fee, and you need to recoup all this from ticket sales only, no marketing or merchandising from the event.

You could pay the biggest pop star in the world a fraction of the hosting fee to turn up an play a concert in a field and charge more teenagers than you would make from enticing a minority of motor fans to come watch F1, where the race is likely to be stopped if it rains, or the best driver dqed for changing a sparkplug, or a team not even turn up.

Formula E is the answer for anyone wanting a race, especially in emerging markets as they can advertise local companies and sponsor teams etc - and they can race in the City center
