Bridgestone sai they had to run 3 stops because they were worried about safety-tyre failed there last year

How does that make him faster ?

It doesn't, it is a load of balomey. My analysis is correct that is the answer to your question. And all the teams use Bridgestone anyway so even if that crap were true, would it not apply to all teams as well? Ferrari included?

It doesnt make him faster. he wouls have been faster on a three stop. Bridgestone were worried because lewis uses his tyres harder and had a failure in turn 8 last year. They didnt wan long stints for him on the same tyre. Heikki is less aggressive and doesnt us the tyres so hard

You know what come to think about it after watching the interviews again for the second time, Kimi clearly admitted having to drive with a broken wing. That was after the run in with Heiki. Still managed to finish right behind Lewis hey? Lucky man that Hamilton is, lucky man. Enjoy Lewis' success while you can because he wont get many more unless McLaren can match Ferrari or Ferrari cars crash out.

Monaco and Canada, my friend. Then you will see the real Lewis. And BMW. then Ferrari will be worried. I've picked Heidfeld to win in Monaco, and I'm going for Lewis in Canada with Kubica and Raikkonen to get revenge for last year with a podium.

wings can easily be swapped in the pit stop if it were hindering Kimi in any way they would have changed it, he also set the fastest race lap with this damaged wing  so couldnt have mattered much at all!

Lewis lucky? no luck there at all. just hard work

Lewis sited this as his best race ever. The most he hoped for at the beginning (because of the 3 stop strategy he had to take)was 5th. He drove the wheels off that car. Luck!! Don't make me laugh! The lucky one was Massa -lucky that Lewis had to take 3 stops!!

Kovalinen had Hamilton's card marked this weekend. He would have probs won if Kimi hadn't touched his wheel.

But hats off to Hamilton, what a race! Don't think he'll win the next 2 races tho, Mclaren really are blowing themselves up bout their chances there. I have a sneaky feeling Ferrari may be really strong tbh. If BMW are going to win, this may be the one... Kovy may win to

KR said they decided against changing wings because it would have made them lose too much time compared to the effect the damage had. Plus there's always the risk of stuffing up the pitstop with such an operation.

to be able to bank in the fastest lap would indicate what ever damage there was had little if any affect on the car.

Yes Kovi did well and would probably have won with his pace and his strategy had he not touched Kimi, it was a shame as he did a great quali lap.... but by the time that happenned Lewis was already ahead of both kimmi and Kovi. Lewis is great round Monacco but how the car will handle i dont know :? Its strengths have changed from last year,McLaren will be aware and working on this, so we'll have to wait and see.

Or it would indicate superior driving skills to compensate for the negative effect :P:mrgreen:

:lol::lol: So why's he not a country mile ahead in every race when his car is not damaged?

Good question. Ask Kimi - it's a relatively well known fact he's not always 'there'

I don't think Kimi had damage at all to be honest.

On the on board shots later in the race you couldn't see the front wing moving around, it wasn't cracked, no pieces came off it. I think he may have been making excuses in the light of being cut off by Heikki at the start. A lot of people are saying Heikki would have won if it wasn't for that.
