Really enjoyed the race, was very happy with Lewis, just a shame about the 3 stop strategy. I feel for Heikki, but he still drove a great race for me.

Massa looked great 8)

I didn't like the fact that James Allen referred to Heikki as Hamiltons 'rear gunner'. Heikki isn't there to help Lewis. He may have beaten him without all his troubles early on.

I just finished re-watching the race again on the delayed telecast on free to air TV. I watched it live on the net using video streaming. The commentors even have said that the 3 stopper is what got Lewis up there. Had he done a 2 stopper hw would of been worse off. Don't know why it is a shame he did a 3 stopper because it did better for him than worse. The commentator even made the point of Schumi pulling this off in Hungary in 1998. Although I remembered this already before he said it.

Just think what the outcome would have been if FM, KR and LH were all on a three stop strategy!

He isnt his rear gunner per se, he just would have been in that race at that time just as lewis would have been heikkis rear gunner had the positions been reversed. Today kimi was massa's rear gunner. Its how it works

If Heikki had got a decent start and hadn't been hit by Kimi, I think the roles would have been reversed by the end of the race, because Heikki's pace was good when he wasn't stuck behind all those other cars.

yeah i think he meant in that situation, not in general

if that was true and you would make major gains by doing it, everyone would have done it!

With a little extra help there with Heikki damaging Kimi's nose

fastest lap with a damaged wing just imagine what he would have done if not for that daft move by Heikki "damagin" Kimis nose

I think the macca was fine. if he'd been on a two stop he'd have won that

I highly doubt that. I would say he would of come 3rd had he done a 2 stopper. If they did a 2 stoper, Lewis wouldn't of even touched Massa and Kimi would of passed Lewis when they both came for their 2nd stops. Either way Lewis ran a awsorme race. I wouldn't never say a nice thing like that about Lewis, never, but have today so yes he did well as a driver but McLaren not as quick as Ferrari. It was Lewis' skill that got the car to second place.

You would argue that a black sheep was white!

Mate I am not arguing. I am right and you know it. I congratulate Lewis for getting 2nd and almost winning for his skill with the 3 stopper. I am very hestitant to ever congratulate Lewis for anything as I don't like him but fact remains McLaren is not at Ferraris pace and Lewis would of done worse had he done a 2 stopper.

For periods today the McLaren was a hell of a lot faster than Ferrari. McLaren's main weakness now seems to be getting the option working as well as Ferrari can get them to. I would also remind you that McLaren have a little knack of upping the ante in the development department in the middle of a season. After things looking closer than imagined in Spain and McLaren being at least on a par with Ferrari for much of this weekend - both tracks suited to the Ferrari, I should add - and with two tracks that would favour McLaren coming up next, as well in the upturn of form from Hamilton and Kovalainen continuing to do well, I think Ferrari should start looking over their shoulders.

Trouble is the favoured tracks seem to have altered from last year. Ferrari now quicker on twisty bits and macca on straighter bits. How will it bode for monacco whee maccas were far superior last year? You right thos mcLaren will be working on it

spot on. I was slightly expecting Ferrari to walk away with it but Lewis drove a great race and I'm sure Heikki would have done the same if it hadn't been for his early incident. The Ferraris just didn't look faster; whether that was because Hamilton was in a lighter car for most of the race I don't know, but it's definitely encouraging for the next couple of races.

Congratulations to Rubens Barrichello for an epic record number of GP starts (257 I think it was), shame the Honda couldn't have been a bit more competitive today. And yet again Sutil was pretty rubbish. He always seems to be outqualified and outfinished by Fisichella, which is disappointing; I'd heard he was one of the really promising young talents, but he has yet to convince me. And Kubica carried on his really impressive beginning to the season, although I can't see him being too near the front runners by Interlagos.

Great race
