You are entitled to your opinion, however as the team were not sure if they had Button or Mags till recently suggests that Honds preference for lead driver is Alonso, and with his history and the wage he is drawing, it doesn't seem credible to me that Alonso wont have assurances of having his preferences and chances of success a team priority

Theres something very disturbing about that pic, could be the facial hair :hehe:

Im sure a body language expert would have loads to say about it. Look at the death grip Alonso has round the back of the neck. And the pat on the chest.

Its like Alonso is the big man showing off what he has caught - not the other way round...?

Looks like Ron and Alonso are auditing for Strictly come dancing in that photo.

Having Mag as a 3rd driver will keep the 2 race drivers motivated.

I'm pretty sure that Ron Dennis gave Alonso assurances back in 2007 and we know how that turned out! But I am under not illusions that Alonso is lead driver; but that said, McLaren traditionally don't have #1 and #2 drivers and tend to let their drivers race, so we will see how it pans out. I am making no grandiose claims that Button will beat Alonso in 2015, in fact I have openly said that I believe Alonso is the best driver in F1 today, but I do believe that Button is there for more than to make up the numbers.

I'm in support of this move. I think it's good for the F1 fans and I'd love it if Alonso and Button gave us the spectacle promised with Alonso and Kimi that fizzled away right from the start.

...anyway, looking at this pic, it sure seems Alonso picked up good suits in Italy, Button at least chose the right color, but the guys at the end and Mags look as if they've never set foot in a tailor's shop.

So, Uncle Ron took the leap and said, "I can safely say, therefore, that we now have by an order of magnitude the best driver line-up of any current Formula 1 team." Clearly, for every year this pairing is together and they don't win the Championship, we can rule out the drivers as the fault. Hmm, Ronny didn't sort that bit out before he said it, eh?

Such fun!

Understandably, RD seems to be high on energy boosters (hopefully not Redbull), in his bid to work overtime in fixing the rapidly sinking ship left behind by his failed predecessor.

This order of magnitude doesnt have to be a multiplication, could easily be a division - an order of magnitude of a 20th that of Merc :hehe:

Clever Ronster. Some of his words also imply some stringent performance clauses for Button. Say he is Kimied by Alonso then he could be replaced on a race to race basis by Mags yet

"For Jenson he has to play his own role. He has his own hurdles to jump, some of which have been quite deliberately put in front of him from the perspective of assisting with the decision which of course I fully recognise has been quite long in coming.”

That can only mean he has to perform to keep Mags out, and that he had to bend over to get the nod. Could be what Button needs a boss who will not tolerate any excuses or lack of balance and will want 100% each race with a contractual stick to make sure Jb doesnt slack like he did under the disturbed Martin Wreckedarse
