Em...so how did all of this pitwall-to-driver coaching work out since the ban? Not a blip from Lewis. The dude just went about his business. Outside of giving his engineer feedback on the state of his tyres ("tyres feel good"), the only other real conversations that he has instigated is things along the lines of "Can I turn my engine down now. I'm comfortable with this pace." He doesn't really seem to need that much, if any hand-holding. I kinda like that about him.

:yikes: Would have to be very selective

Even Hugh Crapmore seems aware that MS didnt design the Hybrid...

You really shouldn't spread rumours like that!
That's how the silly season gets its name! :whip:

What does any of that mean, or have to do with my post?
What rumours are being spread?
Whats the silly season gotta do with Huge Morecrap?
Whats the whip smiley express?

actually dont bother with the last question, I think I prefer ignorance to a peek into lalaland

YOU are the one spreading rumours that Schumi "designed" the Hybrid.
YOU are the one that mentioned both Hugh Podmore and Schumi in the same sentence.
Rumours are part of the Silly Season, thus I've added that one to this year's batch.
I will use any smiley I choose.
And, you have your own lalaland to post in now, don't you?

Your lack of respect for anyone who doesn't fawn over Hamilton is tiresome.

I think to be honest Lewis is a driver who prefers to just be allowed to get on with it,miso the rule would suit him. If coaching is allowed then it's something He would avail himself of, he'd take the benefits on offer, be stupid not to, but if no one can use the coaching then Lewis and Alonso would I'd say be better at coping.
It goes right back to the guy who worked with Nico and Lewis in the early carting days...... lewis was on it straight away,Nico learnt quickl and ended up close. Lauda has said the same . Paddy was complimentary of Lewis' ability to just get into the car and drive it when he first worked with Lewis in F1.
So all in all I'd say Lewis gained over Nico through the no coaching rule.

Let's not forget the radio advise Lewis got in Monza was to hang back, save his tires so he could make an attempt on Nico towards the end of the race. :hehe:

As a member Cookin' and as someone who often finds himself on your side of the spectrum as far as points of views are concerned. I implore you to simply put Sagi34 on the ignore or deny or whatever the squelch feature is. It will be better for all of us in the end.

I always thought the initials on Lewis' helmet were cool in their meaning H.A.M

Shooting lined up ducks can get boring after a while, I think I will relegate the expertz from the range and simply denote them as D.A.F from now on :hehe:

Yes WB...but unsolicited advice...advice he chose not to follow. Remember, instead he dropped the hammer, loomed larger and larger in Nico's mirrors and then ultimately forced the turn 1 blunder. He pushed Nico hard but in a way to still save his tyres because once he passed, he stretched the lead out in a very short period of time, leaving Nico no hope. In my view, the Monza turn 1 blunder is one of the three moments we can look back on and say, above all of Lewis' wins, that moment helped define the season for both drivers. (Of course #1 Monaco - where Lewis was pissed off and #3 Spa - where Lewis declared war and as they say in the hood, handled his business.)

Such fun.

Yes, that was my point. I wonder what Nico would have done were the roles reversed. It's clear that Hamilton changed his focus mid way through the season focusing all of the efforts on Sunday race pace knowing fully well that Nico would go for a faster qualy set up in order to gain the upper hand. Lewis banked every race of the season post Spa on his ability to overtake his teammate, on 14 occasions both Lewis and Nico saw the finish on race day, Rosberg finish ahead of Lewis only 4 times. Add to the fact that on two occasions Lewis started out of the front row where he could have been. I'm pretty damned convinced that were it not for the spin in Brazil, Nico would have been shut out after the Span incident.

Agreed.

I saw in an interview, can't remember where now, but Lewis mentioned that the team structured all of their engineering briefings from the first round of practice thru to qualifying where both Lewis and his engineer plus Nico and his engineer were at the same table discussing setups, the various strategies based on certain scenarios, etc. Lewis commented that the races after Spa, he found an advantage...intimating that possibly he went one way with settings during engineering meeting but held his cards and went a different way for the race. He talks about him and Nico having similar driving styles. Notice in the races after Spa, on the radio Nico kept talking about "lots of understeer" and "graining?" Lewis on the other hand, race after race kept saying things like, "These tyres are still good." I think Lewis gave Nico the ol' okie-doke...to borrow an American phrase. :hehe: Nico may have walked out of those meeting with setup info that gave him good one lap speed but burned down his rubber over the distance. I'm not saying that's what Lewis did...but if he did...

Such absolute fun!

That would be a cracking article to have as original Forumula1.com content. I can't wait for Hugh to pen it.

BTW, I really wanted to post Proverbs 26:11 but even I thought it a bit harsh.

Try Luke 6:31, it might help you be a better person.

Oh the irony.

Seriously now, can we please stay on topic? As far as I'm concerned this thread can be closed and opened up once again in a few months, it will spare the entire membership a lot of nonsense.
