Espanola you see he was doing very well in GP2 he finished second to Lewis in the championship in 06 so he did enough to earn a race seat.

Maybe Renault are just favouring Fernando afterall thats the way he wants it to be in "his" team. which is why he had a cry last year and led people like you to beleive he couldnt possibly be beaten by a rookie without the team favoring said rookie

:|
1. Lewis was the "most prepared rookie ever to enter F1". Piquet was really good in GP2, and he is very talented as a driver. But he was not put in his F1 seat because he was ready for F1 yet.
2. Alonso may have wanted preferential treatment (which is not really admirable) but he was also not getting the same treatment (which is what Mclaren wants everyone to believe).

how the hell can you say that? lewis had 1 or 2 tests EVER in F1 before they named him as the race driver for 07 while Nelson has had many tests then a season as 3rd driver!
you Anti Lewis ALonso dicks really erk me you talk more s*** than the Schumi lambs ever did!

same old s*** from Alonso subordinates but where is your proof?
name one race where they told Fernando to pull over like Ferrari did so many times with Rubens, name one race where Lewis had the better updated car, name one race go on

b) To do the above with the odds stacked decidedly against him (FA and Flavio wont let him compete)
I dont think he's as bad as he's looking at the moment. He is in a very frustrating situation.
But renault cant have it both ways a rookie thats kept down to suit FA or a fast proven driver that will piss off FA

Do you seriously think a team will stack the odds against their driver when said driver fails to even make it past Q1 ???
"Piquet, you are about to reach Q2... ease off"
it's ok that you dislike Alonso because he didn't allow being used by Dennis and Lewis, and even Briatore because he is flashy (and kinda funny)... but man they're not in F1 because they are stupid.

Piquet is just doing awful because he was not even ready to make the jump to F1. He was put there because of some marketing / sponsor deal, not based on his talents.

It is precisely because the odds are stacked against him that he fails to make the cut. No need to tell him to ease of-damage already done. As Bud says he was as well prepared as any and more than most to move to F1

Ok, assuming that Piquet is ready. Let's say as ready as the newer guys: Glock, Bourdais, Sutil, Vettel and Naka. Is Piquet doing THAT much worse than these guys? He is doing what he is capable and ready for doing right now.

The Mclaren flock always has to find their scapegoat. If there is any Anti- Hamilton sentiment, I'd say there's 10 x more Viva Lewis screaming birds in the english media and the Mclaren flock. There's always a way of bringing Mosley, Schumacher, Alonso... hell, just name your villain... into your arguments, while exalting Lewis; even in a Piquet topic. I find it pathetic. And boring.
#42831
yeah thats it dude ignore your lame bag Lewis topic afterall you brought it up! and now you turn it into aaaah the British media bla bla bla thing  youre pathetic and VERY boring mate!!!

wheres your reply to what i said about Lewis?? you cannot admit he has talent and that he did good in his rookie year, which a blind man would beable to see that he did!!! that makes you the loser in all this just remember that

i expect more than 17th! renault arent crap, they are just average atm, ahead of williams, STR, honda and with toyota, rbr

wait for the budget cap where honda and toyota fall away and renault make more gains and surpass the rest, alot of teams wouldnt be anywhere without there 300 million team spending

I wouldn't get rid of Piquet, you can't expect every rookie to do a Lewis, Nakajima is pretty much doing the same as Piquet right now. Being a Williams fan I would have to say the Renault is the pick of the midfield pack right now thanks to Alonso's influence, the Williams is good in race trim, but absolutely crap in qualifying and also probably the car that makes the best starts.
#42853
this is exactly the way Fernando wants his team mate to be though ;)

Alonso wanted Piquet to be his teamate. He told Renault to drop Heikki because he would rather have someone who isnt very good, and its showing right now.

If Flavio won't let him compete then he should be under less pressure surely? There is a difference between a rookie driver and a disaster. Moreover, Renault, as much as they favour Alonso, are not going to tell him to back off from getting a qualifying position that would allow him to pick up some good points.

Ahahahaha. Let's deal with your first point to begin. It is true that Hamilton was well prepared for Formula One, but other drivers in Piquet's position have done a far better job than him. Fact. The difference in preparation between the two doesn't come into it.

As for Alonso getting inferior treatment: ahahahah. What was it last season? Four wins each, twelve podiums each, 109 points each. Both drivers were given the same equipment, in fact, Alonso was allowed to have his own brake disks because he preferred the type Renault used. Then, let's not mention who Alonso was given priority to win the Monaco and Spanish Grands Prix, and also how Ron Dennis allowed him to carry on racing for McLaren when Mercedes wanted him sacked right away for his involvement in the spy scandal, trying to blackmail Dennis, and bribe team mechanics and engineers!

The Spanish should just stick what they are best at: racism and complaining.

You so just put yourself on that kind of level.

Did I? I thought it was rather amusing. I'm not worried anyway. It's no less true than the rubbish than the stuff f1ea has been posting on here. He's another one so blissfully blinded by Alonso that he can't see/acknowledge the facts of the matter; exactly the type of person I hate when it comes to sport.

Some people think racism is amusing. Does that make it a good thing?

I don't see how you can equate a cheap throwaway gibe to annoy some delusioned poster on an internet forum to a scourge such as racism. Talk about melodrama and political correctness in overdrive.

Derogatory comments based on a disliking of a group of individuals yet aimed at a general population aren't quite appropriate. Stereotyping can be offensive. I'm quite sure that saying all Muslims were terrorists or all black people were gangsters would cause great offense to a large proportion of those people. So there is little difference between what you said and those, except that Spanish people are not considered to be a different race than your own.
