It's pretty sad when Rosberg, as a real contender, shows the sportsmanship in insisting to his team that he finish the race, instead of quitting and is still accused of doing so based on the assumption that he was still harbouring some far-fetched hope that he could still win.

I thought that's why he didn't want to retire the car... Didn't think he thought he had even the slimmest chance of winning with few laps to go. By that time he was outside of points.
#427446
Yes I think by that point he knew it was all over but wanted to go to the end.

Yep, when things started to fail and he was falling back he was still trying for 5th or 6th in the hope.. er possibility that Lewis would suffer some problem. When he was asked to pit he knew he was in no position to benefit from anything and it was over no matter what. i just think he didnt want to end the seasons battle by parking up and climbing out the car in the garage and the team respected that.

Bizzare comment to make from someone that supports Ferrari. That team would have of course put their efforts behind Hamilton and made Nico block Massa as he was trying to catch up and would have relegated Nico to a support role After Japan. It's as if all your posts regarding Mercedes in general and Hamilton specifically have a distinct taint to them.

Nico is a noble guy, under all the bravado and multiple language banality delivery, he is a decent kid, otherwise why would he and Lewis have gelled so well and bonded obviously allowing the other to be proud of his background, hence the teasing each other all the time but bounded by talent etc. lewis would not get on with him in karting had he been the type of complete :censored: we know he would have had to put up with 90% of the time

I would say continuing in the race despite been offered the chance by the team to 'avoid being lapped' by Lewis completely shows his real character. A Button would have retired as being lapped by his teammate would create an event he would be ashamed of later, that would affect his ability to bluff and pretend - not Nico who knows where he stands with Lewis and knows he is as good as him given different circumstances

ok sagi, can you explain exactly what aspect of sportsmanship are you are referring to here? you are complaining about something, so please define exactly what the sportsmanship you identified and are speaking up for associated with Nico insisting to his team that he finish the race

just for once please answer the question and dont bail out by changing the focus

I was just listening to the radio and Chris Evans is running a competition to come up with a question to ask Lewis who he is having on the show at some point.

Someone asked. What happened to the flag you drove around with on Sunday, we only ask because it was our flag and would like it back.

That would be straight on ebay lol

I'd trade it for a signed helmet.

All these :censored: saying this season was boring are complete hypocrites.

I don't recall even one Hamilton fan in here saying the 2010/2011/2012/2013 seasons were "boring" since we had so much racing despite the domination by RB and Vettel. I personally enjoyed every one of those seasons, so why can't you :censored: be racing fans and enjoy the racing going on behind the Mercedes and the driver you hate (but won't admit) so much?

If you want to see your team do well all the time and not care about any other car in the field, why not just download some specific youtube videos and pull your trousers down.

But is was boring racing with repetitive results. And the worst part, as I have stated before, was that the other teams could not fight back due to the restrictive engine rules. 2014 was an effort in futility for the other drivers and teams being asked to perform but not allowed to compete.

The season was very much like 2009 in way a bad rule decision ended up marring the entire season.

And yes the last half of 2013 was boring imo but the other RB years were very competitive with 2010 and 2012 being real thrillers.

ps. And please do keep your trousers on when you are watching replays of Hamilton's 11 wins.

Hope you're looking forward to next year then as teams will have no excuse to bring the performance they failed to deliver this year. I support a wining team that knows how to make a PU within the allotted time frame and within the regulations specified and agreed to four years ago. Who do you support?

You asked that question earlier:

And add Ricciardo to that group. He has done very well this year.

Kimi and Vetel. You must be excited about next year.

It should be fun, hopefully we see a hard fought battle between them.

The battle Alonso fought with Kimi for 9th place in Abu Dhabi was pretty spectacular, I'm looking forward to next year as well. I wouldn't dispute you on Ricciardo, you don't slap a 4 time WDC around the way he did and not have some real talent. What's difficult to comprehend for me though is how Ferrari saw the battle we saw at Red Bull and thought that Vettel was the real talent in that pairing.

I think Vettel to Ferrari was a long time coming, perhaps Vettel even had an agreement or option to join them. It happened so quickly.

It's not like Ferrari had much choice. Grab him quick before his stock falls any further.

Re-Nico I would like to go to the end. I thought it was the end of the season and he wanted to at least finish it on track. He knew the chance of the title was long gone.
