Yawn Marina lives up to its name. The race/ championship was over 100 meters after the start line.

Massa was never gonna catch and overtake Hamilton.

Oh Jabs, really? You found nothing nail-biting about this race? Even after Nico's worries, the fact that the same thing or other mechanical issues could later strike Lewis' car? Then there was Massa flexing his muscle in the late stages. C'mon...a yawner it was not. No?

So both Mercs would of scored no points. No change to the championship outcome.

Very well done Lewis. Justice was done in the end, with the best driver winning for Merc.

Hamilton won the title by winning the race, congrats to him. I've spoken about him and Nico enough in the other thread so i'll focus on the rest of the race.

I know I will get some stick for this, but in the last 10 laps I was urging Massa to catch Hamilton. In my opinion, had he caught and dived down the inside on the last lap Hamilton wouldn't have fought it and after the last few years Massa has had it would have been great if he got a win. Until 3 laps to go he was on track, but a combination of the super softs going off and a battery issue Ted Kravitz mentioned meant he couldnt find the last 3 seconds.

Another solid podium for Bottas after a poor start. Although my driver of the day was Ricciardo. Pit lane to 4th in not the best car was an excellent effort. Ok it would have been 5th had Rosberg not had a problem but considering the Red Bull was slower than Merc and Williams it was a great drive. Once again he beat Vettel by more than a pitstop. My driver of the season.

Another very good drive from Button and again outdrove Magnussen. If I was Ron Dennis I would be signing Button alongside Alonso. With a new engine and the importance of development next season a Button/Alonso partnership would be excellent. Button has been mentioned as the driver assisting development this season and the team have moved forward in the last 6-8 races!

Ferrari - Well, erm... the less said the better I guess. I will hope rather than expect that 2015 is better. I know the last 6 years havent been great for Ferrari but this year has been terrible. The only time Ferrari even threatened to win was Hungary and that was thanks to Alonso's brilliance rather than the car being good.

Overall, the title decider will not go down in history as a classic but I thought it was a decent race and it was close for the win until the final few laps. Well done to Hamilton and Mercedes on their triumphs and im sure that Abu Dhabi's nightclub will be consuming a lot of alcohol tonight!

You won't get stick for that, I too wanted Massa to catch him and overtake and win but at the same time I really wanted Hamilton to win so regardless I was happy with any of the top 3 drivers winning the race.

I wouldn't really mention "not the best car" because the Red Bull is comfortably the third fastest car because of it's superior downforce and they beat everyone except the faster cars (exception Rosberg) but none the less it was a fabulous drive by Ricciardo. Slapped vettel again.

You, I and 99% of the world would be signing / of signed button months and months ago but for some stupid reason Eric Boulier dislikes Button and is the only reason that Button hasn't already been signed. A button/alonso pairing is a no brainer it's a perfect combination in development having both ends of the spectrum for smooth vs rough drivers.

It was a lovely race to watch, nice atmosqhere, great controlled driving by Hamilton who got by far the best start I've seen in F1 since the 2006? Renault starts but yeah not one for the history books as a classic due to the fact Rosberg practically retired and nothing crazy happened. If we had both the Mercs starting from the pits or a crash between the two drivers then it might have been a classic.

I was pleased for Massa. And a bit worried at some points. I felt Lewis was controling things and could have turned the wick up had he wanted too. My biggest worry was if Massa caught up and they took each other off......when Nico was still in the points. But I didnt think Lewis would have allowed that to happen.

Can't agree about his development potential, I don't think he's so good at that. But I wouldn't be completely averse to seeing him stay on. Difficult decision for Ron because if they want a driver for the future it has to be Mags. And I cant completely forget the sneaky stuff.

I liked Vergne on Dan. I really hope he stays. Just needs to get a bit quicker in quali.

Today, It was said several times, by the brainwashed (no steak dinners from now on) commentators, that Button had enabled McLaren to get millions more cash, from the Constructors pay out.
IMO if he is on his way out ...he has helped Macca recoup some of the dosh, that they've overpaid him.
He's driven better since he's had Ron's toe up his ****

Lewis' start today was incredible.... I think it was Ted or Lazenby said it was 0.2 secs from lights going out ...to his wheels turning.

Yeah, Lewis had his engine turned down and didnt want to turn it up again but i think he wanted to be on that top step (wasnt even on the podium for his first wdc) so much he wouldve turned it up if he thought he had to but he kept his head and did what was needed.

And what makes you think having it at Brazil would make it ten times better? It could be 10x worse...It's about time people need to gather this, F1 is not a drama, it is sports. What happens, happens. If you don't like it, you know where the remote is but to be fair, it hasn't been that boring of a season...Contrast the last few years to this year, at least it have some variety. I know we should be entertained by F1 but at the end of the day, people seem to treat it like some drama production.

If you want a sport that includes drama, wrestling is your best shot.

Ron wont be thinking 'wow look at Buttons ability and results when he is pushed out of his comfort zone' he will be thinking 'wow look how much potential results, sponsor income, FOM income, we have missed out in the 2 years before I incentivised his bottom with my big toe'

I just dont get the romantics like the BBc - 'oh just employ poor Jenson' - Mags or Van Doorne would drive for free and would score either big points because the McHonda is a Merc rival or would score an insignficant percentage of Buttons insignificant points is the car is a dog like the last few years. Next to Alonso scoring maximum potential points of the car is bad or scoring maximum if the car is good, Button is an expensive luxury

Since when was Ron a charity for ageing no top rated drivers??? especially the ones he already paid 30 mill to lead the team in the worst 2 years in their history

Congratulations to Hamilton. Once he'd gotten that start it was all over. It was moving watching him in the pre-podium room aswell, trying to fight the emotion (and for Australian viewers he did a slightly better job than Rusty, bless him). Nice touch from Rosberg too, and glad he got the issues at exactly the wrong time which might finally put to bed the German favouritism talk. Glad double points didn't come into it either as Rosberg fell away.

The race was a good indicator of what we might expect next year too. Ricc with a bit more poke, Williams edging closer, Honda might bring McLaren more to the fore, all might mix it up a bit more.
