Many miss the point.
The regs will not be changed, V8s will not be coming back, unlimited development etc will not happen, the engine makers who have any interest or say in F1 rite now are Merc and Ferrari, Renault are insignificant, thats why they spent so little in the first place and why Red Bull have taken over speaking for them and paying extra staff to work on improving the engine. No engine maker will go back to V8 ICEs, not even Ferrari in their wildest hallucinations
All thats happening is a bunch of PR, Merc will finish each race 1 and 2 for the next 4 years with the odd win by Williams or RBR
Simply because, without Merc, there is no F1, they supply 4 teams with the cheapest and by far the best engine. Renault are trying to make a profit and ferrari are fairly clueless to be fair. Until Porsche, Audi or BMW turn up the Merc engines will be the winners with their factory team untouchable because they can afford to double their spend and still see an overall return in marketing and sales. No sponsors or drinks companies or niche sportscar builder can compete with that type of business motive.
So a good investment would be shares in the lubrication companies, as judging by the irrational reaction to the harsh realities displayed just on this thread, if that holds across the wider F1 audience, then theres a lot of pain on its way
