Imagine this scenario...

Rosberg winning Abu Dhabi, and Hamilton finishing second, and receiving a time penalty that drops him into 3rd.

Imagine the chaos that will erupt on the Internet.

i would say the fact Nico has led for most of the season only to be overhauled at the business end, exactly the same scenario as earlier in their karting career - when Lewis turned up at Art and the established Nico led the whole way only for Lewis to turn it around and cane him in the last stretch - this is playing on Nicos mind - he already said earlier this year that would be 'too much'. Nico can start from pole and Lewis can stalk him and just match his pace the whole race.

Looking at the stats, any time Lewis has started on the front row he has finished on the front row, ofcourse Nico has not, so theres another thought for Nico to dwell on. Nico has to start on pole and win to have any chance. Lewis can start second and finish second, and with the Merc so dominant it really doesnt matter that he didnt win in Brazil, because unless he has a dnf etc, then it will be first or second.

Lewis can even afford to crash them both out at anytime

I think Nico has around a 10% chance of winning the WDC, I think I heard a rumour that Lewis has a fresh gearbox while Nicos has a few miles on it - so thats something else for Nico to think about at bedtime

Finally Abu Double is a good track for Lewis, Brazil hasnt been yet he came second

All in all it will be a pretty illogical straw clingon who thinks he can do anything other than provide the usual amusement for the Lewis fans during the next 2 weeks

That's your backup plan! Saw it in 1997, the other guy survived and won and the offending driver lost all of his points.

Really good suggestion.

The best way for Lewis to win the wdc is for him to only think of winning in Abu Dhabi. He won't do well just trying to come second, he only knows one way to race and that means going for it.

Yeah clingon to the 'backup plan' not working after the straightforward ones all fail

But hold on, if Lewis was in a position to take them both out he would by definition be in a position to just stay behind Nico, unless of ourse Nico was lapping him at the time

Good thinking

...if Lewis was in a position to take them both out he would by definition be in a position to just stay behind Nico...

Dumb Question of the Day:
IF either driver were to intentionally do anything so ridiculous,
is there not a sanction in place for that sort of behaviour?
Of course, that's if it can be proven...

p.s. NOT being facetious or trying to cause a raucous, I honestly do not know.

Yes. Disqualification from the World Championship.

Case: Schumacher 1997

:rofl::rofl::rofl: we found a Ferrari fan who doesn't know why MS got DQed in 97, don't fans with zero knowledge even bother anymore with wiki before blinding us with opinion stated as fact

Lewis taking Nico out in the race. It is not as if his hero Senna ever did it....

That's why I'm in full support of it, Nico wasn't even called to the stewards even after admitting he could have avoided the incident but wanted to prove a point. I guess Mercedes would have to once again handle it internally.

Double points can clean my crap. The idea is so bad, I'd rather support One Direction for greatest boy band ever...That's how bad it is by the way

Good lord, man! Hope it never has to come to that. :hehe:

Such fun...

So many comments here already, we should make this the official Abu Dhabi thread.

This was supposed to be the official thread. Feel free to change the title.

I guess that would depend if it was Rosberg coming through due to Hamilton's car failing. Any way why am I trying to explain to you your plan??!

Ps. Do you think that Schumacher's car was failing when Villeneuve attacked? Do you actually remember 1997 at all? You can do better than this cookie!

Can we get back tot he discussion at hand. Rosberg having to win and Hamilton coming in worse than second in order for Rosberg to win the championship?

It's not like it hasn't happened before, Hamilson lost a championship his rookie year because of a transmission glitch that sent him to the back and having to work his way forward again. Rosberg can hope spring's eternal right? Let's be real here, the only thing that will keep Mercedes from a 1-2 victory in Abu Dhabi is a DNF by one of its drivers or did anyone miss the time gap in yesterday's race results?

Even after Lewis gave Nico a free 8 second gap to play with in mid race. :yikes:
