What a crap interview with piquet and Hamilton.

It was very weird ...a 'wind-up'but at least Piquet didn't insult Nicole...like he did with Nige's wife years ago...
Then Lewis left the podium ...I thought what is going on...but he went back, he he'd just gone for a bottle of water.

Not just that, I found the sky commentary a bit mystifying, Brundle and Crofty regularly veering into inane dribble territory. Bring back Legard I say

Good grief no, Legard had no idea what was going on most of the time.

How long did it take him to notice this, and then he doesn't know the difference between front and rear.

I'm absolutely pooped. Nice round of racing today. A very complete and strong showing for Nico and FINALLY got a chance to see some scrapping between the Merc boys, but it was just too much sector 2 power for Nico today, perhaps Lewis would have jumped him at the pit stop but the spin sealed his fate. It was great to Massa on the podium, in front of his home crowd. Lots of celebrations in Brazil tonight. But then again they find an excuse to celebrate Wednesdays there, so this is just over the top celebrations. Congrats to Button for a very nice and surprising showing, and it was great seeing the Alonso, and Raikkonen scrap. There was no way Alonso was going to let his teammate beat him, no matter how much front end they put on Kimi's car! :hehe:

Onwards to Abu Double, may the season end and harmony reign over our little forum over the winter, regardless of the results. If we all wish really hard, maybe Bernie won't make it through this winter, come on let's give it the ol' college try!

It's been a while but we got a fair Nico win over Hamilton. After the spin it felt like Hamilton was reeling him in for another win; probably hedged his bets with the strategy - not keep so far back that he's settled for second early on, but not comprimising the result with a risky maneuver, just waiting to pounce if Nico makes a slight mistake - which he didn't.

Hamilton pushing and tanking it on worn tyres in the penultimate race felt very 2007. Lucky there wasn't gravel at turn 4.

Massa was good today, in what is clearly the second best car now. What happened to Bottas? He only lost ten seconds with the seatbelt, but ended up tenth.

Button is so far ahead of Mag it's not even funny. Race day Mag has to improve in all areas next year - I can't honestly think of one area, outside of his pace, but then all these rookies have pace, where I can say 'Well, he has that going for him.'

Vettel's had a good weekend. Even without Ricc's suspension failure, he would have come out ahead. It will be interesting how he adapts to the Ferrari, with it's weaker aero package, after he's finally gotten on top of the RB. From all his chatter this weekend he seems very magnanimous about the season, esp being beaten by Ricc. Whether it's that benign end of an era feeling, or genuinely has accepted it for the shellacking it is, I don't know, but he's been very impressive in defeat when he could easily have been an a-hole.

He would have looked foolish denying the obvious, yes? Best to move to the Ferrari mindset ASAP.

He hasn't overplayed the mechanical issues card, which would have been an easy thing to do. He's shouldered the burden of his own failure, where he could have used the caveats much more.

So, yeah, to flat deny it would have been idiotic, but Kimi this year in a relatively similar situation, has usually given the impression it's a car not driver issue. Vettel on the other hand has chipped away at his technique and has gotten some very positive results.

possibly not as funny as if it wasnt a 15 year veteran WDC against a rookie. I dont think there has ever been a rookie who didnt improve in the second year in all areas, outside raw pace. He has still managed to score the teams highest points haul this year. Ofcourse not too many teams pair up WDCs with rookies, however compared to Perez vs Button last year, which was marginal, then it is clear that its senseless to judge a rookie in his first year, he could have done better, he could have done worse, however he has time to improve and a year or two down the line, when compared to Perez, who is not bad for his experience, then chances are he would be much much better than Button with a little bit more experience

Anyway what do we know, the trick is to see what the guys who write the cheques think about the relative merit of a 15yr veteran vs a rookie scoring half the points

They're clearly going on potential with the added bonus of not having to buy the home brand custard creams.

And it's not even that Mag's season has been unusual, as you said, he's just a rookie, but it's that McLaren have gotten themselves into this either/or situation, with Mags' inexperience the only thing going for him, when usually it would be the opposite. He's clearly not a first choice pick, he hasn't cemented his seat with great races, but the sensible and pragmatic one. He'll be Alonso's Kovi.

Congrats to Rosberg, Hamilton and of course, Mercedes, yet again!
There wasn't much to separate the two.

Great to see Massa on the podium in front of his home crowd!!
Loved the fight between Kimi and Alonso!!

One of the creepiest moments I have seen in F1

I'm trying to find a YouTube clip of this. I thought at the time. ....WTF! Why is he letching over Nicole in front of Lewis? Sick. And Lewis sounded a bit pissed with his short answer. She's at home.
What I hadn't noticed, but have just been told, is that when he said it, Lewis rubbed his nose with his middle finger. Which apparantly is a subtle way of giving the birdie. Any one see it or got a clip of the interview?
