I buy McLaren merchandise every year at the GP, so my collections is fairly large, hats tops i have a beach towel aswell

and dont you like the McLaren tops McFan? they are pretty comfortable and keep you warm and cool if need be ;)

I personally prefer shirts with collars, but I wouldn't mind a nice t-shirt for the (few) warm days we get on the Emerald Isle or when I'm in Scotland, but I don't like McLaren's current range of merchandise. There is nothing McLaren about it. I want to wear something - like a football strip - that clearly shows what team I follow. Take these examples:

Image

The t-shirt looks alright and I'm sure it's good quality, but unless you watch Formula One regularly, you would barely know it's a McLaren shirt.

Ditto the above. Wearing that would suggest that I work for Vodafone rather than me being a McLaren supporter.

Then compare those with the old enemy:

Image

All the sponsors are displayed, but not at the expense of making it look less like a team shirt. You can see, for instance, the colours match the car and there is a sizable Ferrari logo on the thing.

Image

It's the same story with their baseball cap.

When McLaren make their merchandise in McLaren colours and actually have a visible indication that the t-shirt (for example) belongs to McLaren, I'll buy some stuff.

McLaren's gear needs at least one good-sized logo like the above in visible places.

Subtle marketing Mclaren fan  I have both the t shirt and the cap. It is recognised by the people i would wish it to be recognised by. Likewise, I recognise it when i see someone wearin one. Why be obvious!!

Subtle? There is nothing subtle about a huge Vodafone logo on, say, your cap. Is it too much to as for a semi-noticeable McLaren logo on a piece of McLaren merchandise? I want to show my support for McLaren, not pay £30 to £150 for the privilege of advertising Vodafone et al.

they pay for exposure, its like the car there is only 3 McLaren logo's one hardly visible on the nose cone(every constructor has to have their logo on the nosecone) the other two ontop of the side pods.

Ferrari, BMW, etc. all managed to give their sponsors excellent expose and still have their logo in a reasonably prominent position on their clothing.

I have a McLaren shirt bought when Kimi was still driving for them...haven't worn it for a while ;) I was planning to try and get some unofficial Super Aguri gear but I guess there's no point now :( Also got a few F1 books kicking around, but not a major collection!

I've got the latest Honda shirt, the JB Press to Activate BAR shirt, 1:18 replicas of JB's Renault and BAR 007, 1:24 replicas of 2001's McLaren and Ferrari + a Jordan from a few years before that, a 1:43 of JB's First Pole Limited Edition BAR 006, some teeny mdels of a Ferrari a Williams and a McLaren circa 2001, a BAR 007 poster (HUGE) 2 Collectible JB @ Renault photos, a Renault F1 Team poster featuring FA from when I was pawing all over their car, an F1 mug, an F1 keyring and 2 F1 shirts, one of which lists the 2008 races on the back rock tour style.

Whew. There we go.

Ive got LOADS! Started with Hill (those T shirts I wear to sleep in now)And currently its Lewis of course  In between I got JPM (of course :P ) Also Jordan stuff-love the colour-I ski in my Jordan jacket -got it really cheap. Got a Webber/Jag suntop and cap (we all make mistakes ) And an Alonso top and hoody(:oops::oops: )Ive given the hoody away-I did it when he blocked Lewis and I only ever wear the vest top for pole dancing. Got a few general racing ones -T shirt from Istanbul with the track layout on the back, a Jenson one that says "little bit racey". The list goes on...Its sort of part of the Silverstone weekend to visit the stalls and get kit. I usually settle on something on the sat but then end up going back and getting something else on the sunday. Well, a girl has to shop!!

I've had a few F1 hats and that's about it.

A 2003 R Schumacher Williams one, an 05 Renault one, and a M Schumacher 7 stripe one from '06.

I got a McLaren team shirt after all. I saw one on eBay which cost £17, so I thought I'd get it. Given there's no McLaren logo, I didn't think it was worth the £30 odd that McLaren were looking for it, but £17 was enough to swing the deal.
