Good drive from Jenson in Brazil to finish fourth, probably got the best out of the car today, Williams were too quick for Jenson to step up onto the podium, one more chance in Abu Dhabi, a podium would be a good end to Jenson's F1 career, should it be the end of the road in F1 for Jenson.

The Hulk is eveybodies go-to man for untapped potential. Apart from the top teams apparently. It would have been interesting to see him given a chance, but that's not happened. Ricc is a special case. For every one of him there are many more given the chance who failed miserably.

Thats the thing, most never get given a chance let alone a second or third one.

Take Jenson, after failing in his first year at Williams to secure a seat, he was given another chance by being parked at Benneton, then after failing to secure a seat when he was replaced by Alonso, he had a third bite at the cherry.

Now every Jenson fan will agree that he was lucky to get the time to show his real talents leading to a WDC.

Compared to the cut throat pay driver world of today, Jaime Algea, Petrov, Chandhok just to mention a few that I though would have made it if the had not been unceremoniuosly dumped, each of those could have ended up a WDC given the luxury of 3 bites at the cherry

even Ricc didnt look better than JEV or Jaime Algae at STR - its more a question of being in the right place at the right time and having a patsy as a teammate doesnt harm your chances, neither does having a disturbed team boss as opposed to one more interested in the girls like Flavio

I said this earlier in the thread, I can't complain that if Jenson does end his F1 career after Abu Double, he has had a fair shot and achieved multiple race wins and a world drivers title, so many drivers with potential have been unceremoniously dumped and never given the chance, mainly because their team found another driver with more sponsorship money to bring to the team. I make no secret of my dislike for pay drivers, if teams can not afford to pay a driver, get off the grid!

Jenson was only a stop gap Williams because Montoya who was winning everything in sight wanted some F1 action but was already contracted in america, BMW wanted at least 1 Germany driver. So Ralf kept the other seat.

Moving onto Renault, Flavio promoted his protégé Alonso once he had got upto speed in Minardi. Flavio also knew that because of the extra money Renault was pumping into the team compared to benetton that he needed his cash cow to bring in the money.
