Hamilton is an exceptional driver, certainly in the top four on natural talent on the grid. In many ways this season is like the 'difficult second album syndrome' in music. I think he'll be extremely settled though by next year, and I fancy him to finish comfortably third in the title race come the end of the season and fighting Massa all the way for second.

That said, there is too much hyperbole but the haters need to realise this isn't Lewis' fault. Flicking through F1 magazine I see he is voted as the 15th greatest driver ever (voted by the readers I presume) which is ludicrous.

Hamilton has got talent, but so have a lot of people on the grid, all of which not lucky to have their hands on a McLaren or Ferrari in their entire careers let alone their first season. It's far too early to say even if he is a great driver yet let alone one of the greatest. You have to earn your stripes.

He's having a tough season for a number of reasons. The MP4-23 is not as strong as the MP4-22 so he's trying to overdrive the car at times, Alonso is not there to help with testing and car setup, he's now the team's spiritual leader, and the weight of expectation is bearing him down. Hamilton will come good in the end and is a great up and coming driver - and that's precisely what he is: a great up and coming driver. Let's the leave the legendary talk until his career has progressed well or is approaching its end.

Its easy to say who is a legend after the event. Far more difficult to put your neck on the line and say who you think its going to be beforehand- but hey, life's short, whats wrong with sticking your neck out :?:

It's not that tricky to pick out who could be a legend, but there has been a lot of one-season wonders throughout Formula One history. Notice the word I italicised. Hamilton clearly has the potential, but one good season in a top car is not the stuff of legend, I'm afraid.

Nope i know that. NO ONE can be a legend in one season. Thats exactly what im saying. However Hamiltons pre F1 racing was more impressive than most which is another indicator.

It's been 4 races not 5, Lewis have won 1 and come in third. If it was anyone else their will be doing great. Lewis Hamilton, is currently second it's about time the haters layoff. Ramirez is really spainish, Mexico was a country created by the Spainish.

Kimi first
Lewis Second.........

At the time this was posted, we hadn't seen Spain yet. The five races in question were China, Brazil, Australia, Malaysia and Bahrain.
