I wonder if Lewis also had Brundle in mind?

And you know I believe Lewis would be supportive to younger drivers. He's great when he works with kids. He once said he remembers as a child going up to get a race drivers autograph and being pushed away, and how bad it made him feel, as a result he tries to give as much time as he can to his fans. And he does, and his fans love him for it.

I don't know whether Nico is smarter than Lewis or not. May very well be the case, perhaps if they were contestants in Jeopardy it would be easy to find out... on the racetrack however, those assumptions of Watson's make him look pretty stupid damned ignorant.

"He would like to build something – a school, or a hospital – in an impoverished part of the world. He has worked for UNICEF and Save the Children as an ambassador and is serious about pursuing humanitarian work after F1," it was reported.

Hamilton said: “A lot of drivers come back after F1 and do commentary, but I have different plans and aspirations.

"So it’s about positioning myself so that when I stop I have something to continue on with.

"At some stage, when I retire, I’ll have something that I’m also really interested in that is a substitute for racing. So that’s something I want to start working towards.”

This isn't out of the blue, either. In 2008, the Briton set up a foundation with the help of his father, Anthony, but it seems that was just the beginning of his philanthropy as he sets his sights on an unusual career change following his current sporting life.

And while Motorhead is happy to stick the boot in when Hamilton's ego crosses the line, on this occasion we're even happier to give him a big, hearty, pat on the back.

Yeah I still think of him as one of the young drivers. This is his eighth season!

I still remember him as the guy who was interviewed in Indianapolis 2007, the guy asking him how he takes the car closest to the main straight wall compared to any other driver and why he does that. And his response "I'm not like any other driver" with this arrogant smile on his face. I recall thinking 'what an arrogant talent'.

I was still supporting Kimi that year.
